Back to back dyno testing of OEM exhaust vs EMSPowered exhaust:

********************************************************************************************

There doesn't seem to be a ton of interest in an exhaust system for these trucks, but since we have had a handful of requests over the last few years we're going to go ahead and make a run of them. I need one volunteer that can drop off their truck for prototyping of the new system. The exhaust system and installation and dyno testing before/after installation will be free for this one volunteer.

Requirements:
* Needs to be a truck that has a 100% stock exhaust still in place and functioning with no check engine codes
* Prefer factory size tires if possible. If not we can work around it
* Must not have a body lift of any sort
* Prefer no suspension lift either, but if it has we can work around it
* Must be in good running condition

We will need the truck for about 5-10 working days from start to finish. You will receive a new EMSPowered header-back exhaust with y-pipe, catalytic converter, muffler, all the way back to the exhaust tip and installation here at our shop.

We are located in Austin, Texas, make sure you'll be able to get your truck to us if you're going to throw your name into the list. If you're interested please PM me or email me at baktasht@emspowered.com

If you're not familiar with our work. Here are our FZJ80 80-series, 100-series, and 62-series exhaust systems:

Damn if you were closer, I'd be at your shop right now! Lucky person who ever is picked.

Sent from my hawn finga using IH8MUD

Daily driver is a 1991 FJ-80 3FE, My muffler has begun to talk to me, you can count me as a future (near) client, had a lot of trouble finding anything on a Exhaust system upgrade anywhere on the web, very pleased to find this post. Let me know when the product is available.

Any idea on a price point. i'll be turbo'ing mine soon and was most likely going to use a local exhaust shop to do mine but if the price is reasonable on this kit then i'd consider it.

Keep an eye on this thread, we'll post updates as things progress and once they're available for orders.

Baktasht,
We planned on this coming Monday Oct 22nd as drop off date. Just wanted to check in with you to see if this is still good.

Thanks!

I kind of wonder what the point of doing this exhaust is? With the 3fe I think a person is better off taking their truck to a muffler shop and having something bent up and having their choice of muffler put on.
It was less than $500 to have mine done.
Not being a dick, but custom bolt on exhausts don't make much sense on a 3fe.

Will you post the before and after Dyno results on this thread or will you start a new one. I would love to see those numbers before my exhaust completely falls off! Right now, I'm thinking local muffler shop but if there is real performance to be gained, I may consider a more expensive option.

Yes. We will post the results in his thread for sure.

Prototyping is complete. Stock exhaust is going back on and we're doing back to back dyno testing with the OEM exhaust vs the EMSPowered header-back exhaust. Will post results as soon as we're all wrapped up.

Dyno'd the truck with the factory exhaust this evening. We did 8 runs back to back to confirm consistency, made a whopping 84whp wheel horsepower lowest number was 82whp. We will be swapping to the EMSPowered header-back exhaust tomorrow and dyno'ing again. I'll post up complete details of the dyno test, conditions, relevant mods to the truck, gearing, and all other information after we finish up with the dyno testing tomorrow.
