It seems toyota wll be bringing at least 40,000 small good filters into north america this year

unfortunately, they are attached to fj cruisers or at least the one i looked at tonight had one. anyone know if this will revive the pn#?

I take it you already took delivery on yours? if so you need to change you sig.

these are the 90915-20004 Denso/Toyota filters?

Dan was talking about getting a batch of 20004s in.

BTW your package did ship monday.

I wouldn't get my hopes up, the same engine has been here in NA since at least 2003 in 4runners, Tundras and Tacos, so whatever they use will probably be the same that is the replacement filter for the FJC.

Wierd that they still use the 20004 filter at the factory.... they must still make them but not bother to import for the parts biz...

RT, I just got to see one while they were doing the pdi at the local dealer. test driving one tomorrow. the one we ordered is three weeks away.

Yes, a well made and unusual oil filter that uses depth filtration, it is still sold in Japan but difficult to find in the US. I have about 2.5 cases of them left. Most of the current "small" Toyota filters (the 90915-20004 is in the "small" group) are made in Thailand and are ok but not as well made as the 20004, IIRC the "large" LC filter is still a Japanese Denso filter and well made but regular paper media. Generally large filters are preferred but in the case of the 1FZ many get less start up rattle with small filters, especially the 90915-20004

there are pages and pages written about this, search for "20004" will get more info.
