Another option to consider. If you have Tractor Supply Co. in your area: Tractor Supply Company - Enamel Paint, check out their tractor paint. I have used some in spray cans and was surprised at how good the quality is. If you have access to a spray gun they sell enamel pre-mixed in gallons & quarts in a wide array of stock colors for tractor restoration. There is a separate hardener that they also sell to mix with it. When I looked at it it was about $35 per gallon so along with primer hardener & thinner you could do the whole thing for less than $100.
 
That's what I used on my frame at the recommendation of a paint and body guy who said it had outlasted eastwood chassis black on some frame offs that they had done.

This is low gloss black and it was not sprayed on of course.

Thanks for the advice I did use a gun with a PPG Auto paint. Color is the Toyota Desert Sand with some Flattener. Not as dark as I had in mind but when I pulled the trigger I was too far to back out but it is growing on me. Great to be driving it again.
