79 FJ40 in NC

Erymer - I might have your truck
Was daily driver in NC for several years.
Emissions intact and passed last time I inspected.
Currently a project waiting to happen since my son rolled her in May 04.
Top and doors were off for the excitement so no damage there.
Biggest oobstacle to on road use is a new windshield frame and glass.
Roll cage is tweaked, should be replaced.
The rest is cosmetic.
I can send you photos.
You can pick her up and get her in prime shape without blowing that budget.

If no deal I'll post here soon.
Also available- Kayline soft top, hard top and doors , ambulance doors, bikini top,,,,, parts too numerous to mention.

6300 is too much for me right now, plus im looking for a Gen1 4runner.

The one I was looking at was apparently issued a Salvage Title in Virgina, so im gonna skip that one :frown:

1988 SR5 V6

Anyways, Its going to be a DD with light offroading on the weekends. I just cant drive too far out, because I cannot drive manual yet, and my Dad has to come with me :-D

I would lay off the v6. If you want a 1st gen, get a 85. Or you will regret it if you ever get into offroading.

There is a 85 on pirate in VA for $3K. And it is outfitted preatty good. AA 5.0 TC gears, 35's, etc. It does have a few dents, etc, but seems to be a decent deal. (Although it would be tough for a daily driver. But I remember its easier to have something like that DD the younger you are.)

My 55 and 40

I've been getting a lot of interest in these two old cream puffs so let me begin by saying, yes, I will try to take a lot more pictures of them this weekend and posting them to this thread.

The rollover happened at Tellico when I got myself in a bad position going up one of those steep, eroded trails that resemble a canyon. I messed up and rolled (on tires) backwards up the embankment. My left rear went straight up, my right rear dropped into a hole, and that was all she wrote. See tire marks on right side of pic:doh:

160,000 miles or 160,000 kms?? lockers?

colin to answer the first question read five words into the intro or read post #8.

to answer the second question I will quote from the PM I sent you last weekend.

"the 91-92 came with a switchable central diff locker but did not offer the front/rear diff lockers option in north america. You can add f/r ARB lockers or swap over the axles from a later model."

I will send you some photos shortly.
