I'm putting up my 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser for sale. The truck is priced due to various cosmetic and structural imperfections that I'll do my best to detail in the listing. Currently 188K miles on the odometer and still going strong.
Since buying it last November, I’ve put in a lot to make her road-worthy (just drove up to Joshua Tree and Yosemite without issues). I hope to find its next owner who wants a turnkey truck that can tackle the body work to restore it to its former glory.
The good (installed < 1,000 miles ago by land cruiser club garage):
- Newly installed refurbished radiator + hoses
- New fan clutch (blue-hub, made for the 80-series)
- New brake lines, aisin brake cylinder
- New power brake booster + check valve
- New vacuum lines, hoses, and belts
- New steering relay rod
- New tie rod bar + tie rod ends
- New water pump
- New temp thermostat + gaskets
- New fluids (engine oil, transmission oil)
- New auxilary transmission cooler
- Relatively clean interior for age
The bad:
- Frame rust. Original owner was from Michigan
- Inner c-channels will need to be reinforced (truck will comes with a new Trail Tailor c-channel kit to install valued at $240)
- Previous owner's paint job will need to be redone at some point, it was originally a beige metallic
- Previous owner used Bondo to cover up rusted doors + rear quarter panels
- Cracked dash
- Dents on the front passenger side + hood
Items to address if this were purchased:
- Rear main seal leak
- A/C is not blowing cold air. Will need a condenser install (included with purchase) + conversion to r134a
Other noteworthy items:
- Recently passed among on 1/25 (have the certificate on-hand)
- Ironman 2” Nitro Gas Suspension Lift Kit
- Sumo Gear knuckle rebuild kit from Cruiser Teq
I did my best to communicate the condition of it and will do my best to answer any questions. Come check it out and hope you have a great day!
