Fog light issue on a 2000 (1 Viewer)

Hello all, this is my first thread please don't beat me up too bad.

Here is the deal. As many of you know Colorado had flooding of biblical proportions a few weeks ago. I am not sure if it is related but I think my fogs stopped functioning around that same time. I drove through about 8" to 12" of water for a good 3 to 5 minutes going 10mph ish.

I did a search and read a few threads concerning the same issue I have. Fogs are out, fuses are good, bulbs are good. I hooked up a volt meter and I have no juice to the fogs, head lights read normal.

From this information I decided to have a go at the fog light relay. Napa had a part # that crossed ref with the DENSO 90987-02012. After some sore fingers and a few beers I accomplished nothing other than replacing a good DENSO part for a cheap Chinese one.

As of now I still have no fogs, no reading on the volt meter, and sore fingers. Can anybody point me in another direction? Im not sure where to go from here.

I've got the same problem. Mine occurred when I stopped for gas one night. Had fog lights when I stopped, cranked up and no fog lights. Looked at fuse and replaced relay, still nothing. My guess is multifunction switch/stalk. I just haven't had time to check it out. Maybe someone else can chime in with ideas.

Are all 6 forward facing white light bulb fuses good, and the 4 other bulbs illuminate no problem?

There is a ground on the steering column. Check to see if it's loose.

You checked the fuse or whatever you call the little box thing thats behind driver side kick panel? Its a real PITA to get to and the fog light fuse is on the backside of it and really you have to just go off feel.

All front facing bulbs EXCEPT fog lights work. All fuses good.
Replaced the relay on back side of fuse block. It's nice having a neighbor who is a body man. He had the fuse block out in his hand in about 5 minutes. We replaced the relay on the back and reinstalled it.

I'll check to see if the ground is loose.

Went out and pulled the switch. If the 98 switch is the same as 2001 and cross reference through CARQUEST says it is... Continuity test shows pins 10 & 11 open with fog light switch on. Which means the switch is bad. I'll try to get a switch & check it out...

You can go through any of your local auto parts stores like Auto Zone or Car Quest and they can order it based on year, make, model. It'll cost around $100, give or take.

Finally had the time & money to get a switch. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the issue... Back to the old drawing board...

Well I'm confused you tested and reported SW was bad. I assume you double check in this order: 1) bulb, 2) fuse, 3) relay, 4) SW, 5) wire harness.

I'm wondering if switch needs to be set with low beam on and high beam off for the test of fog light SW continuity.

Harness is next good luck, lets us know what you find.
