Strange electrical issue – fog lights and horn turning on by themselves (LC100, 2001) (1 Viewer)

Привіт, друзі, я зіткнувся з дивною електричною проблемою з моїм Land Cruiser 100 2001 року випуску, і мені справді потрібна допомога, щоб її розібратися.

Почалося з того, що спрацював центральний замок — коли я вимикав габаритні вогні, двері замикалися самі. Дивно, але я дозволив йому ковзати, оскільки мені потрібна була машина щодня.

Тепер стало гірше:

Після паркування автомобіля, повністю вимкненого та заблокованого, і залишивши його під дощем на кілька годин, протитуманні фари випадково ввімкнулися.

Коли я відімкнув машину і (не торкаючись замка запалювання) перевів перемикач протитуманних фар у положення «ввімк.», **протитуманні фари вимкнулися — але потім гудок почав вибухати без зупинки.

Єдиним рішенням на даний момент було відключити батарею.

Наступного ранку — батарея знову включена, і все працює нормально, наче нічого не сталося.

Це траплялося вже двічі.

Оновлення – Протитуманні фари спрацьовують, коли габаритне світло ВИМКНЕНО, а звуковий сигнал включається після блокування

Швидке оновлення після деякого сьогоднішнього тестування:

Я трохи покатався і перевірив усі звичайні місця, куди може потрапити вода — все висохло, ніде немає ознак вологи.

Але я знайшов щось несподіване.

Коли я вимикаю габаритні вогні, вмикаються протитуманні фари — навіть якщо індикатор протитуманних фар не горить на приладовій панелі.

Якщо потім я вручну вмикаю та вимикаю протитуманні фари, а потім обережно тримаю кільце протитуманних фар, вимикаючи габаритні вогні — протитуманки залишаються ВИМКНЕНИМИ, і все здається нормальним.


АЛЕ — як тільки я замикаю машину, приблизно через 3 секунди, починає постійно гудіти клаксон.

Зараз це можна відтворити на 100%.

Отже, здається, що:

• Вимкнення габаритних вогнів викликає тумани (але не через логіку приладової панелі),

• Щось у цьому стані також спричиняє божевільний сигнал клаксона, коли автомобіль замкнено.

Будь-які ідеї, який компонент може бути тут коротким/перехресним? Ви все ще підозрюєте комбінований перемикач чи, можливо, проблему із заземленням у проводці стрижня…

Будь-яка ідея, що може бути причиною цього?

Я чув припущення, починаючи від перемикача покажчиків повороту (комбінованого перемикача) до правого бічного реле/коробки запобіжників, можливо, потрапляє волога всередину.

Хотілося б почути, чи було у когось щось подібне — я чухаю голову тут.

Sorry - I posted in the wrong language

Hey folks, I’ve run into a weird electrical issue with my 2001 Land Cruiser 100 and could really use some help figuring it out.

It started off with the central locking acting up — when I turned off the parking lights, the doors would lock by themselves. Odd, but I let it slide since I needed the car daily.

Now it’s gotten worse:

After parking the car, fully turned off and locked, and leaving it in the rain for a few hours, the fog lights randomly turned on.

When I unlocked the car and (without touching the ignition) flipped the fog light switch to the “on” position, the **fog lights turned off — but then the horn started blasting non-stop.

Only solution in the moment was to disconnect the battery.

Next morning — battery back on, and everything works fine like nothing happened.

This happened twice already.

Any idea what could be causing this?

I’ve heard guesses ranging from the turn signal stalk (combination switch) to the right-hand side relay/fuse box possibly getting moisture inside.

Would love to hear if anyone else had something similar — I’m scratching my head here.

Update – Fog lights trigger on parking light OFF, and horn starts after locking

Quick update after some testing today:
I drove around for a bit and checked all the usual places where water might get in — everything is bone dry, no signs of moisture anywhere.

But I found something unexpected.

When I turn OFF the parking lights, the fog lights turn ON — even though the fog light indicator doesn’t light up on the dash.

If I then manually toggle the fog lights ON and OFF, and then carefully hold the fog light ring while turning the parking lights OFF — the fogs stay OFF, and everything seems normal.

BUT — as soon as I lock the car, after about 3 seconds, the horn starts blaring continuously.

This is 100% reproducible now.

So it seems like:

• Turning off parking lights triggers the fogs (but not via the dashboard logic),

• Something in that state also causes the horn to go crazy once the car is locked.

Any ideas what component might be shorting/cross-talking here? Still suspecting the combo switch or maybe a grounding issue in the stalk wiring…

Perhaps you have a door ajar “button” that is bad? Sorry I can’t think of what the technical term is, but this happened to me and was water intrusion once and once was the door ajar button on the door jam was bad.

Yeah, I never had the fog light issue, so I can’t speak to that. Mostly just trying to point you toward what my issue with the horn blaring was, see if my experience was similar to yours. Sorry I can’t be more help for ya, wish you well on your investigation.

You have a water leak issue which is leaking somewhere around your windshield and is messing up with electricals under the dashboard. I'm 100% certain this is the case after I read this happened in heavy rain.

I had same random electrical gremlin twice in the past after a heavy car wash. Not sure where the water entered from but it did. the first time my hazard indicator wouldn't shut off. So I disconnected the battery and reconnected it in the morning when it was dry (Middle east, always hot). The 2nd time it was after a full paint job, a slight leak from where the weather strip usually is on front windshield top. My VGRS malfunctioned, went away in morning. I was a bit lazy to have the strip fixed after the work was done but did it quick because I'd rather avoid electrical faults.
