Decided to tackle the rear swing out door weatherstripping. Used the 3M adhesive remover to get the original dried up stuff off. O'Reily retail $27  Counter guy says he'll give it to me for $15, score:clap:

Found my first major rust hole.:p

Major rust hole hahahhaa!!!

Found this in my stash tonight. Plan on disassembling the windshield this winter. At some point the PO used caulk.

Where did you get the weather strip for your rear doors? I can't get over how nice the condition of your truck is, love it.

By the way, do a search for the gas strut inserts for your chrome spring props. I restored the struts with them and it's a good, inexpensive upgrade.

Thanks for the kind words. The weatherstripping came from @Racer65. I will search for that mod. I'm planning on doing the OME 2.5" lift, would your suggestion still be relevant?

The gas struts are for your rear hatch. They fit inside the chrome struts that hold it up. The stock chrome hatch struts contain a spring and lock mechanism.

Thanks. I've heard of this mod and plan on doing when I rehab my top. Appreciate the link.

That mod is one of the best mods you will do!! it will put an end to alot of bad words when you open the hatch and turn around and bang your head because the hatch fell down. Your 40 looks great!!
