New to forum. I have an '88 FJ62 I am restoring and looking to install a V8 retro to the stock automatic transmission? Looking for suggestions and Ideas. Posting soon.

You won’t be able to use the stock transmission. They are troublesome even with the stock 3FE.

Understood and thanks for your response! I got 250K+ out of my transmission before I had to rebuild it. I guess with double the HP it might be a different story.

If you are going to upgrade the engine might as well go to a newer transmission and get the best of both worlds. There’s a good thread on here about V8 swaps.
