Hey Davis,

here are some teaser pictures for you. I pulled the tub yesterday and will be cleaning the frame sometime this weekend... I was only supposed to get the truck running but after after deciding to change the springs, shocks, the body came off.

First picture was taken sunday and the tub came off last night.

The 4th photo.....how is the tub being suspended? David Blaine trickery????:grinpimp:

That's impressive Luis, and ambitious. I hope your sons helped pull the tub.

Lee, my oldest boy was helping. Really glad he was cause 3 of my left toes found out how heavy the tub is after a strap busted. I could not pull out my foot from under the tub until he helped my lift it up.

Are you going to have it ready for C&C Saturday? :D

I still need to buy some tires, otherwise I would.

Mexican ingenuity!! Actually, I used my cherry picker with a chain bolted to the base of the rollbar.

You have a two week headstart. With another funeral and big test coming up, I wont touch the truck until august.

Here is the sad state of my body. The rage skim coat is done. I need to DA the sides and shoot 2k primer. The floor is ready for me to start lining the top and bottom.

I am going to line the bottom and put it on the frame. I will have to workout all the mounting holes at that time.

Cool. The only think I don't like about the newer tubs are the curvy floor boards. Makes rust repair a little more difficult.

No worries, mine is going to go slow also. I am limited on the amount of time I can spend on this project. Family responsibilities take priority.

sweet great start ... keep it going:cheers:

That's impressive Luis. Did you jut get that? I didnt know you had a 40. What are the specs and what's the plan? Do you have an engine? The first pic looks like it doesn't have one.

I actually bought it from Edwin about 1 year ago. I pulled the engine that was in there which was locked up and the deal included the 2f engine that came out of Mauricio's piggy. I am changing water pump, clutch, most gaskets and will be installing it in the next few weeks.

Hey Fjsnoozer it's probbaly way to late but idd you still want that manual steering box? it's been in the back of my pickup truck cab in a bag for months

Seriously debating whether to keep the auxiliary gas tank seen in pics 2 & 3 fo the 1st post. Afraid it might get hung up on a rock one day. Will have 33" tires & 4 inch lift.

What do you all think?

Tough to tell how far it would sit below the tub from the pics. In another life I had a dune beige 76 that had a home made 24 Gal rear tank that I loved, wish I still had it. Had it plumbed with an electric fuel pump to the main tank so I could refill my main tank a couple of times per outing. Back then I was all over southern NM and AZ so the extra range was a godsend.

If this is going to be a weekend wheeler then I say no, if it's more of a mixed use or will go some distance to get out (Big Bend or further) then I'm thinking of keeping it even it you're needing to plate it to protect it.
