Hi,

New round here. I have a solid locked 94 fzj80. I have the opportunity to pick up a fj80 with a fried engine but the body is in excellent shape. I’d like to steal the cloth interior, front and rear bumpers. Headlights, running boards, the old school wheels, center diff lock switch and anything else that looks better than what is on mine. Anybody know what I can and can’t swap from an FJ80 to an FZJ80? Looks identical but I know there might be subtleties I’m missing. Would appreciate any wisdom out there. Here are some not great photos of my 94.

cdl switch fits in the fzj80

You would have to test fit the wheels to be sure. Unless someone else knows for sure.

I don't think the 15" wheels fit without spacers or grinding of the caliper or calipers IIRC. AFAIK the body parts and interior should swap. It would probably be worth just fixing the FJ80 if it's in that good of condition though.

The running boards might not be because the flares are different but I am not sure on them. Lights and bumpers should swap around but they could look different. Some have chrome trim and some don't.

How do you swap them, because I got a 92 bumper for my 96(97) and it seems that the mounting brackets are completely different.... im sure I can modify the brackets or fabricate some new ones for it to work, but I’m wondering how to do it.... 95-97 had slightly thickened bumpers I believe.... they stick out a little more than 91-94

The 95-97 front bumpers mount differently than the 93-94. I don't know if there are differences between the 91-92 and 93-94. My stock bumper on my 94 is a little banged up. I picked up a late model bumper so I didn't look so . The bumper I picked up didn't come with the frame-bumper brackets and I found the late model bumper didn't line up with my 94 bumper brackets. I dropped the project and embraced my inner . I assume I could find some late model bumper-frame brackets and make it work.

Geo , there’s a way to do it, but you have to flip the early brackets around..... the 91/92 have a thinner bumper so it’s a bit different, but all you have to do is flip the brackets around and they should work plus bend them a lot with heavy duty channel locks and it’ll work eventually
