Fj80 Sunroof Leak

I second that motion. Replace the glass+seal. Right after checking all four drain tubes again. Is there any wind noise? Does the panel sit flush with the roof when closed? Is it centered in the opening when closed? Did you search?

Had the same problem. Only mine was leaking due to a squirel that ate the rubber off the sun roof. replaced the whole unit.
I had the sunroof leak problem that no one could seem to find either - replaced the glass, seals, cleaned the drains to no avail. After three months and about 40 hours of investigation by the local toyota dealer, we (and I say we because the dealer's initial answer was that I should just get the interior detailed regularly and live with the leak until I did a bit of agressive negotiating...) figured out that the screws that hold down the track were the cause. They yanked the track, put some goop on the screws, put everything back together and the leak went away...for now
As per CDan, the seal is not available individually, but is part of the glass. The glass is cheaper than I feared. See Romer's post for phone number.
The rubber seal will harden and shrink and leak like hell as with mine. Dan's price is $285. well worth it I have no more leaks.

Recently, I have discovered a leak in my 80 as well. The passenger side ceiling is really wet. I dried it off, came out this morning (it's raining) and it's soaking wet again! Do you guys think that this could be the cause? The seatbelt is wet as well, and the wet mark runs along the ceiling, about halfway over, but seems to be starting in the back passenger side corner of the sunroof. Should I pull my headliner and dry it off while I figure out what's leaking? i don't want a water stain on the headliner.

yes they do.
i found the reason for mine leaking was the rear drain tubes were kinked when someone installed some aftermarket s***.
they ran wiring to the back pulled the panels and in the process of doing so kinked the tubes so they wouldn't drain.
i don't use my dope smokers retractable roof window so i sealed mine.....redneck as hell but doesn't leak

Yeah if it comes to that, I'll just seal mine too, I never use the sun roof, no idea why people like them so much.
I'm thinking of using the air compressor to blow out the drains and see if that helps. The only time I've seen it leak was when I went through a car wash and the air dryer at the end blew hard directly on the roof and pressured the water into the cab.
May be just a weird situational thing where some painters tape over the seals fixes it if I want to go through the car wash.
