I have a 89 Fj62 and i'm trying to change my fuel filter. I'm trying to stop the transfer of fuel so that, I can remove the filter. The manuel says to disconnect the circuit opening relay. Does anyone know how to get to it and is there another way to stop the transfer of fuel to the filter? :bang: Thanks for all the help this board is a huge asset.

changing the filter

dude i just changed mine about 2 hours ago. your going to loose fuel while the lines are disconnected. just do it, you don't loose a lot. once the pressure is released its little more that a constant drip. prep the hole thing and get the new one and the rings ready. it took me about ten minutes from the time i opened the hood. use a 3/4" wrench to hold the filter and a 17mm socket to take off the union bolt. 10mm for the mount and adjusting nut. torque unions to 22 ft lbs. when your done start the eng, check for leaks, then hit it with the hose to rinse off what you lost. to easy, good luck.

Pull the EFI fuse and "start" the engine. That will release most of the pressure. You still will have fuel to deal with, but not as much.

no biggie done mine about a week ago pain to get the clamp back around the filter
