I don't think so, you need one with a vent.

EGR

Federal ECU - note no resistor in R506 or R507 to the right of the processor (bottom right).

California ECU - note resistor in R506 just above the processor.

R506 might be what is turning on the EGR temp sensor function in the firmware. Those resistors tell the firmware things like A/T or M/T, California/Federal. I would be curious what would be the impact on the EGR temperature CEL by clipping one side of that resistor.

Thanks to @pappy I hooked my fuel regulator VSV back up. I took apart the factory plug by removing the wires (after marking them) and only left the two wires for the VSv I was using. I soldered in a couple of wires and ran them in the loom to the alternator, then put them in a heat resistant sleeve to the vsv. To go back to stock, I would only need to splice two wires.

Not as pretty an engine bay, but this is what it ended up looking like.

EDIT!! Please note the vsv rubber lines are hooked up backwards!!!

question for you, which wires did you tap into to make the VSV work? ie: what were the wire colors and what was the orientation they plugged into the VSV

Looks like L-R and Y-R. Since this is a DC switch I don't think orientation matters. Both wires on the VSV side are black (brown?).

Post #6 from this thread is incredibly helpful. I had an issue with warm starting. It would start, but it seemed really weak.

When I did the desmog I removed everything per the instructions, including the 3 VSVs on the drivers fender. Disconnecting the one from the Fuel Pressure Regulator seemed to be the culprit. A bit of searching led me here. Hooked it back up and my warm starting issues are resolved!

I mounted it to the throttle cable bracket after drilling and tapping a hole to the side of the VSV metal casing. Not a fan of zip-tieing that loom of wires to the radiator hose. I need to find a better solution than having it rattle around

There are three VSVs on the fender. My opinion is you can remove two of the three. The third is not for an emissions device, but goes to the fuel pressure regulator. You can simplify the routing by moving the VSV between the vacuum source and the regulator. See pic.

would it be possible to share where the top port connects to that goes out of frame?
