I took off the hub dial assemblies & found no grease,, & stuck surface rusted parts, came apart fairly ez, cleaned up,,, (not as good as could b done) but had them hand working,, just wanted to c if they would engage,, they did not,, I plan on taking another wack at them next not rainy or cold wind blown day,,
On one I disassembled the dial knob assembly & that little ball bearing shot across the room,, it re assembled & worked fine?? I now have found that little ball (with a big magnet) & will put in,, I found that the seal on the dial turn knob was shot,, anyone know the part #? Is it 43532 ?
Thks,,,

fyi, new aisin hubs are avail if you have the funds and just want to replace them. Cruiser outfitters: 1/2 way down the page:

beneath the hubs you see the section selling hub parts...ie gaskets, cone washers etc.

thks
tempted to replace,,but concerned that If I find more wrong,,, it will add too much $$$ to my total fix cost

You can completely rebuild that hub. The little o-ring on the hub dial can be replaced as well as the detent ball and spring. Add the gaskets that you already have or ordered and it should all come together.

I wouldn't order a new set of hubs unless yours are in serious neglect. I say this from the west coast where we don't have rusted trucks :D

Got the seals & gaskets did a better cleaning of the hub dial assembly, put back together, & its working correct 😃👍,,, only note I would mention is to look carful & make sure position is correct when putting on,, it seems it could go together in wrong position where clutch can not slide back,,
Thks for all the help,, now on to the locked up 4L

Only four pages in :D

So hubs are good, what's your next 4WD issue to inspect / tackle?

Drove to work with hubs locked, in 2WD,,no noises, put it in 4wd in a gravel parking lot & seemed to b working fine 😅
Next I am going to spray some pb blaster on the 4L shifter linkage, clean & lube & hopefully get it shifting,, if not I’ll b satisfied with 4H till I get it on a lift to look in transfer case,,
