I went down to HF and picked up a $1.99 5 pack of bits.

My cruiser club hombres give me hell for buying Chinese crap tools, but how can you beat $1.99.

Ez as pie to clearance. Thanks Ya'll.

Before you reassemble the case I would advise drilling a hole in the Hi/low shifter arm to shorten the throw (assuming you're going to run twin sticks). Also consider rotating the arm like freds40 and I did. Here's a pic. I should have drilled a hole in the middle before I installed it.

Thanks for the heads up, the po of this split case took care of that for me.

I believe those are the 3 button head machine screws. They retain the bearing.

I am pretty sure I don't have the bearing.

Does anyone have a part number for it, or know where it is sourced from?

I assume it is similar to the split case out put bearing.

What does a 3 head button screw look like?

Hey that's my picture! You can see the 3 screws and the snap ring in the picture above. I'll go through some pictures and see if I can find the bearing number.

Dylan

cool, thanks for checking

Do you know where does this ring goes?

Have you read this write that was done years ago? It is 40 specific but involves a 4 speed so it may be helpful.

Marlin Crawler ToyBox Install Instructions

I read thru that build.

The rear bearing pictured below doesn't look like it has 3 bolts securing it.

It does have a the large alum spacer/ ring securing things.

The back of my toybox has three threaded holes, like yours pictured above.

I also have the large alum spacer ring like the one above.

Once I have the bearing, I should be able to figure it out

Dylan,

That picture in post #33 is from that link you posted up - the one installed in a 40 series.

Here is a picture of mine that I just installed on my H55F. The bearing is PN 6308N - I looked at other pictures and made sure that was all of the number.

That is my write up. My Toybox looks very different than yours because I do not have a split case. You lucky folks with the split case get to keep your 16 spline output shaft in the tranny while I had to swap mine out for a 10 spline. Had I of known that the Toybox was almost a bolt up proposition to a split case I would have sourced a tranny / transfercase combo from a 60 and used it. You will love the Toybox, it is so nice to wheel at idle speed with your feet off the pedals over the rocks.

Hooray!

I am off to Gatorland Toyota to order one!

My hunch was correct.

I just went and looked, and the rear output bearing of my h42 is also 6308N

Thanks again Gulf Shores for confirming the correct number for the toybox.
