No problem, glad to help. I would have gotten them posted earlier, but I was busy studying for some tests...

I got the bearing and hope to finish mocking it all up this weekend......

I believe that ring goes between the toybox and the t-case. It goes on the opposite way from the way you are holding it. It sits on the face of the bearing and aligns with the opening with the t-case opening. There should be a recessed area around the t-case opening that it fits into.

I just assembled my H42/ToyBox/4sp case and that's where it went on mine.

Just an fyi, but I had to take a bit off the face of that ring to ensure the t-case mated flush to the toybox. If yours was previously installed and worked, I wouldn't worry about it. If not, dry fit and re-check everything.

Cool, now I know where that ring goes.......

Next question:

Is the rear gear in the toybox supposed to touch the inside of the toybox case? ( see pic)

They rubbed together when I mocked it up.

You can see in the 2nd pic how it slides .5 off its bearing.

Does something go between this toybox gear and the bearing to prevent the gear from touching the back of the toy box housing?

Found this diagram of a h42 online.

The bearing circled is a 6308, (same as my output) so this spacer should fit perfectly on my shaft.

Will it be wide enough to keep the tb gear from hitting the case........ I dunno yet

It does appear to have a pin instead of a ball.

I am ripping apart another h42 tonight

Hopefully, I will find something in there that works.

My Toybox was assembled when I got it and I had no reason to take it apart. No help there.

Have you called Marlin's and talked to Dave or Marlin?

Phil

Put in a call, but haven't gotten a response yet.

Slipped a spacer from a h42 behind the bearing and stopped the gear from hitting the case.

Although it is not hitting any more, I still think there is too much play inside the toybox. (wrong size spacer?)

Can some one pull their toy box shifter and snap a pic down in the case for me...

I want to see how the gears are spaced out on a properly assembled box.

You need the low speed thrust washer. This is a aprox a 1/4" thick and is locked to the 19 spline output shaft with a ball. When you took apart the stock RF1A tcase (mini truck box) the thrust washer was located under the 6308 bearing. We have bins full of these let me know and I can send you out one and the lock ball. Also if you split case has provisions for the dowel pins then you do not need the aluminum locateing ring.

Thanks Dave!

Uber cool of you offer up some free parts,

especially on used equipment.

Not too many vendors would do that..... (you may be the only one)

I found this diagram online....... It is for a 87 hilux

ToyoDIY.com

Are these the same parts in my case?

Besides the ball and spacer pictured,

36256‑35010 spacer
90360‑06004 ball

Do I need all these other parts circled in yellow?

33357‑35021 spring
90561‑63002 spacer
90520‑59003 snap ring
