Moved this out of tech. We've seen copyright debates come up before and bottom line that conversation does not belong it tech. It may not belong here at all, but I'll leave that up to Woody.

Looking for drivers side 80 series front bumper end cap. I'm not sure if they are all the same or not, but my rig is a 97 40th. Live in Kansas City, MO thanks, Zane.

The terms of use of the technifo site is that the user agrees not to publish or transfer the docs to anyone else. So, if that is a legally binding agreement, then yes, it is not legit to transfer the files to anyone else, regardless as to whether or not the person recieving the files has paid Toyota for access to techinfo.com.

From a moral standpoint, it is very obvious to all users of techinfo that Toytota's intent is for the service to be used by subscribers only, with the built in limit that they must download for themselves every single document section they are interested in using.

From my viewpoint, I am glad that Toyota has published the docs on the web and made them available to the public. It is obvious that their motivation for doing so at this point in time is to make some money via the subscriptions. I am glad to pay the fee in order to have the service.

Ran across this on manafre's web site.

A good way to be able to get the documents from the toyotatech place is by using an application like amyuni (http://www.vbxtras.com/products/pdfconverter.asp) which allows install the app as a printer in your printers folder and instead of bothering creating PDF files you just print the documents directly to a PDF document and store them in your own folders, this would a lof faster. I have done this for other types of document using this app and it seems to run very fast.
Just an idea...

WTB: hood hook from wadded TLC/LX450

The hook on my hood broke off. This is not a part the dealer sells, as it has to be welded in place. Does anyone have a wadded hood that they would be willing to break the hook off and send?

Thanks,

Frank

Interesting points from Scamper and a very good legal point from Rich.

From my viewpoint, I am glad that Toyota has published the docs on the web and made them available to the public. It is obvious that their motivation for doing so at this point in time is to make some money via the subscriptions. I am glad to pay the fee in order to have the service.

I don't really know how to make this any more clear:

I AM NOT TRYING TO GET OUT OF PAYING THE $10 TO TOYOTA. I WOULD HAPPILY PAY THE $10 TO TOYOTA. I DON'T WANT THE MANUALS FOR FREE, I WANT TO PAY FOR THEM.

I also understand the points that others have about Toyota wanting to make money off off subscriptions and all the other valid points.

Thanks for all the input guys. Unfortunately Toyota won't get their $10 from me right now cause I don't have the time to download all the files individually. To me this looks like a loose-loose situation.

Oh, and I'm sure Toyota wouldn't officially sanction doing this. But if they were getting paid and nobody else was making money I don't think we'd be hearing from them either.

Either way, consider the topic dead.

Thanks for all the input!

(Oh and Junk, flame wars between you and Endless is tech worthy but discussions about manuals isn't? :flipoff2: )

2f and transfer case for 76+

I am in KY. Looking for a rebuildable complete 2f and TC. I do not need a running engine. I need an engine in need of rebuilding for a project. TC needs to be in good shape.

Thanks

Mid '90s 75 Series rear axle?

I'm looking for a rear axle from a 75 Series Land Cruiser with factory disc brakes. It would have to be in North America for the shipping to be affordable. I know that this is a long shot but who knows?

Thanks!
