I removed all the bolts and was able to get the heater box separated from the AC box. that allowed me to get the hard lines through the firewall and the heater core out. A ratcheting phillips head like this one helps considerably on the heater hard lines..

sO mACE, THE mURRY FROM oREILYS DID THE JOB? tia...

yEs, iT wAs PeRfeCt..

;)

Oreilys says MHT 94658 is NLA, go figure. going to try to contact the vendor tomorrow:eek:. How hard will it be to swap out the heater core with the AC charged? Anyone have other alternatives?

It's a pita but not impossible. I did not have to recharge my AC

Thanks Mace! I am planning the AC refresh this WE and was hoping not having the heater core wasn't going to force a reschedule. I will post up if I find an alternative source...

It looks like 60-series heater cores have suddenly become Unicorns ....

Only place I can find is a guy on ebay with 83 negatives selling parts over the last year...

Seems legit.

it does seem legit, but dang if it aint more $$$

Yeah, that oh-Reilly price was the best, and I think they're all just rebranded Spectra Premium ... I hope they do another run cuz I wanna put one on the shelf ;)

Lest my post tip someone towards buying from a potentially less-than-ernest seller, my post was a sarcastic remark about the copious amount of negative feedback he has.

good looking out, RR

That seller is legit, with almost 20K sales feedback, it just seems like almost all the neg and neutral comments are about F-ups in shipping, damaged junk and no communication from seller. AKA horrible customer service.

For me, it wouldn't be worth it to risk 100 bux hoping I'd be one of the lucky recipients.

Even Amazon has curtailed its returns and CS cuz it's expensive, but obviously necessary.

Well even the manufacturer is out -- I sent an email to see if still in production. :wideyed:

yeah I kept buggin the guy at Oreily till he called the manufacturer. nathan...
