Is there some simple way to adjust the drivers seat on an FJ60 so it can be moved back as far as the passengers seat? There appears to be a small piece of metal on the drivers slide underneath that I don't see on the passengers seat. But, there is no obvious adjustment that can be made on it. Just need a little more leg room and there is about 2 - 3 more inches of rail there.

I noticed this too.... Couldn't figure out why its like that :hhmm:

I'm going to take a few photos so I can study it up close. Weird angle to view it. I think I can remove the "stop" but I'd hate to exit out the back of the mount into the backseat when I pop the clutch.

My seat sliders are worn out from being in the longest setting. I'd be concerned about the weight being on only 1/3 or less of the slider track. Make sense? Maybe reinforce it?

remove the seat and have a look underneath.
4 bolts hold the seat on.

Good points. The good news is that it is not worn out nor is it broken. I'm heading across country so I just want to be careful not to screw it up trying to improve it. I have a few of those mis-steps in my past.

Is it possible to switch the two seat bracket frames or are the mounting points different??

I took a shot of the alleged stop pin. It seems to only be on the outer side of the seat tracks, not the inner side. So, that pin (theoretically) is what pushes up through the railing and stops the slide backward.

being long legged as well... I remember someone had their rails fabbed to add 2"+ for more room.

I think they had to sacrifice another seat's guts, but sounds GENIUS!

food for thought and i'll keep an eye on this in case you come up with something...

you could just switch both seats as the seats are almost identical, only difference would be the back seat handle will be on the inside not the outside.
easy to switch and try and see if there is a difference.

I'm thinking a poor man's upholstery solution is just to slide a thicker cushion on the top and raise me away from that pedal per Mike's idea. By the way, is it me or does that pedal/transmission mound combo deform your ankle after about 3 hours on the road?

Thanks guys for the insights.

Any updates on a solution for us tall guys? Just joined the forum not too long ago. I purchased an 82 60 and need about 3-4 more inches.
