The time has come for me to ditch my current power steering setup....after breaking two center arms, I have decided to pursue other setups.
I think that the minitruck setup is great - for tires less than 35"...The East Coast Pig Run convinced me tha I have lots of failure points on my truck and I'm trying to eliminate as many as possible.
So - here is what I have:
Toyota pump with remote mount resevoir. The pump mounts to the smog bracket on the lower driverside of the motor. If you don't have the smog pump bracket, you can find one pretty easy, or I might be able to round one more up.
Toyota power steering gear box - it turns great, just replaced as my other one was leaking some.
And last and not least, the gear box mount. This is a combination mount - shock tower and box mount. This was patterned off of the LobsterFab mount - prior to Lance creating IronPig Offroad. All parts were cut with a waterjet, so they have nice edges on 'em
I haven't pulled it off yet, but can once it is sold. This bolts right up to the factory steering column with u-join on it.
It is a great setup, but 36" Swampers is a little too much stress for it. It turns them, but the center arm is taking lots of force.
I'm pricing it at $200 - this will also include the high pressure and low pressure hoses...
