I took the truck on a shakedown cruise to about 4400’ in Southern Sierra a few weeks ago. Found a few issues. Biggest one was losing the castle nut from the lower end of my relay rod end while underway downhill. 😬That was interesting. Total loss of steering as I managed to quickly stop on top of a berm on the outside of a turn. I was staring into the abyss as I came to a stop with the axle buried in the berm. Some good ol’ boys happened along a few minutes later and had a similar nut with the wrong pitch threads. That, plus my leather belt holding it together got me down the hill. A buddy came and fixed me up proper a couple of hours later. Wish I had pics of the truck on the berm, but hey, my mind was elsewhere working the problem. All good now. Here are a couple of pictures from the trip before the “incident”.
