I'm not sure is this chat or a repost but I saw this modified FJ45 in the parking lot of the Alpine Visitor Center in Rocky Mountain National Park last week. I didn't get a chance to talk to the driver much because he was busy taking care of his customers. He did say that another one was being made...

Wow! Does anyone know if this guy is on Mud or if he is a member of the TLCA? I'd love to see thread and/or spread on this.

Jeff Z? Can you track this guy down?

Looks great, must have been widened a good bit. Remniscent of a hummer, but I like it better. I would like to know what they have in that, a lot of cash I bet...

Yes, I know him. His name is Neil O'Malley, AKA Spiderlegs on forums. He is/was a Rising Sun member. I've seen that rig in person. It's built on a Tundra chassis/drive train IIRC.

;)

It's definitely a Tundra dashboard so tundra chassis would make sense...

I would have done the front bumper / bash plate differently and kept the fenders looking more stock... but that's a great way to get a good number of passengers on board!

I'm not sure if it was inspired by these, but at Moab I have seen 'Mogs set up in similar fashion for off-road tours carrying larger groups.

here's the link on podvins site to his tour vehicles

Thanks Ige. That would be a lot of fun to have a shop like that.

This rig reminds me of a 40 series that the guy who owned Grants Pass Cruisers built in about 93 or 94. He put a widened 40 onto an old Blazer chassis. I never saw it completed though. Does anyone know what happened to that one?

Josh

there was a green one running around salt lake maybe 2000?

There is/was a tan one too. Offroad Engineering up in NSL/Bountiful built a couple of them. I haven't seen any of them in 5+ years.
