Hey all. I'm looking for LCs in northern south america (located in medellin), and found this one in Venezuela. Wanted to get some mudder opinions about this rig. Gasser that looks very clean. Can't figure out why the tailgate latches are on the rear quarter vs. the gate if anyone knows.

Yes, Venezuela is a mess right now, but I have a couple of lawyers there I trust. Anyway, thanks for any opinions or comments.

Drive it to colombia and bring it that way. You are going to leave some money on the way. You will have to pay a lots of people and that wont insure you you are getting it. You need to know the right person. Lawayers, senators, etc. Doesnt mean anything. You have to know what we call “ el chivo que mas mea”. There is a guy in fl that is bringing them from Venezuela. I dont know him or know anything about it but he may be willing to help you. Good luck.

That is not a stock bed to answer the latch question. whoever made it put them where they wished.

The blue vacuum lines, door retainers and firewall gromets would be enough to steer me clear.

You're right I'm sure and thanks for the info. There's a int'l shipping company i've worked with and they have offices in Caracas that appear functional. Tho, it's all speculation at this point. Container direct if possible is the only option. Worst case I waste some time I guess. 2W global, maybe the biggest RORO operator in SA / NA has stopped service to Venezuela until further notice.

No way do I want to bring through Colombia if possible. It would be hard enough to matriculate / register from VZE then turn around and re-export it... And aside from the expensive and long journey you mentioned, I'm more worried it would get stolen en route to Cartagena.
(had no idea the drive from santa marta to caracas is like 20 hrs. on a map it looks like 4 or 5.)

Interesting. why the vacuum lines?

and bed latch ? resolved.

You will get it for a lot less. The exchange rate now is crazy. Even if they know it is worth that, the market is minimum or non right now. I hope you get it. From Caracas to Cucuta you are probably 12-14 hours. Then cartagena. You are right it may not get pass the caracas exit. Let me know if you figure something out. I have my eyes on a couple of rigs that I really will like to have. But my parents just left the country. People is just walking out and taking boats to aruba. It may not be what the news say i hear from friends there that it is worst

Not sure, but I think the fact that it's a company (vs private seller) is better. They're probably more liable, but now who knows?

I'm praying for the people in Venezuela. They need all the good karma we can send their way.

Want to hear more about the rig as I'm new to the 45 and pigs, etc.
