FJ40 Side Apron Emblem Placement

I own a 1980 FJ40. The previous owner installed side apron emblems from an FJ60 and the holes are in the wrong place for the new correct emblems.

Now I'm about to drill holes to install the correct FJ40 apron emblems. Sux cause I'm going to have a few extra holes in the panel.

Can some one post a pic with a tape measure showing the correct location for side emblems for an FJ40?

I see that CCOT has a pic with a tape measure showing the correct placement of the rear emblems, but not the side. I searched and couldn't find anything.

Measured from the cowl end of the apron.

Looks like the first hole is about 7 7/8" from the cowl end (back end) and 1 1/2" down from the top of the panel. Appreciate it...

The "cowl" is towards the back of the vehicle right? The bib is towards the front. Gettin my cowls and bibs mixed up...

Finally got my period correct emblems installed. Previous owner had incorrect and missing emblems. Was a PITA because it required very precise measuring and drilling and drilling into nicely painted body panels stresses me out.

I have some extra holes in the apron from the wrong emblem being installed previously. Good thing I'm taking an auto body welding class in the fall and have a friend with a Miller 211 mig welder.

Thinking back over the years with my 78 fj40 makes me realize a database/graphic/whatever of all the emblem placement holes (All the holes?) in the body sure would have been helpful. Like right now looking at these pictures reminds me I never re-installed the little round reflectors on each rear corner. New sheet metal = no holes. Anyone have measurements where to place these on the curved corner? Being smart enough to always plan ahead would be great, but it does seem like lost/changed body holes is a common problem. LOL, I just read that sentence back to myself! But really, this isn't a joke post.

I know this is an old post but those measurements helped me place new badges on a fiberglass hood and it turned out halfway decent. So thanks for that. This truck had no badging when I got it, I installed a new front emblem and side badges and now I just need a bezel...
