No, not planning on doing discs any time soon. I texted the guy and he only has 2. I am gonna get them for $20...

Get em blasted and powder coated and they will look great.

I know of a SHYSTER that has a couple more if you are interested...

Shyster? Had to look it up. Not sure if I to buy from you Daniel...:D:D Just kidding. You have a pm.

Luis.....why no discs? That was one of the first and best things I did on my 40. Swapped in a complete front axle from a 76. My drum brakes were sscaaary :meh:

Good point Craig.

Money is the issue. It would make good sense to do it now since I am pulling the body off & will be installing new springs, shocks, brakes, mini truck ps, etc...

What is involved in the axle swap? do I need new brake MC, booster? What's the going rate for the whole axle?

Thanks,
Luis

I bought a complete hub to hub rebuilt front axle for $500 which included new bearings, seals, brake pads and turned rotors. I swapped in a booster from a FJ62, but you could also find one from a 2nd gen 4runner. The axle swap is easy, plug n' play. Booster is easy also. I'm not sure that you would need the booster though. I did mine b/c my stock one was starting to go out and I had the other booster laying around.
