Saw this at a shop nearby. What do you think about this? I believe it’s a Cummins 2.8 turbo diesel.

That's a pretty inconvenient location for the battery.
 
Battery placement 😎...... better than under the truck somewhere!

First thing I noticed was the battery placement. Whole engine bays bit crowded. Next odd thing was where they put the fuel filter. Afraid I’d knock it off.

The other thing. When the hood was propped up on the rod the hood flexed like it was made of very thin metal. Is that normal? Mine actually has a fiberglass hood and is very stiff and light.
 
Hood flex on a 40 is normal. The 2.8 is a good power plant for a 40 but the execution can be improved upon!
