Good Morning all,
I have a 1975 FJ40 . The under hood metal tag gives a color code as follows 012 LE11 can anyone tell me what the color of the vehicle is? Also would anyone have a current code that this would transfer to for modern acrylic enamel paints? Thanks in advance for help.

I've seen some debate about whether 012 and T12 both indicated Cygnus White, but I don't know if I've seen a definitive answer. But I think Cygnus White was offered as a body color in 1975. Is yours an off white color?

T12 and 012 are the same code. Some systems take the codes in slightly different formats depending on your jobber and paint type.

I did just figure out that it is Cygnus white and yes it is a very light beige color or off white. I need to do some touch up work and probably need a current code that is usable in today's different paints. Anyone have a crossover code? Thanks for quick replies and the help.

http://autocolorlibrary.com may help. this is for the PPG line of paints.

Update:
Cygnus is listed as a 72, 73, and 74 color. Paint code is listed as 0833. I'm finding that these older codes are becoming less and less available in today's new paints. What's available will also depend on where you live. For instance, in California, a lot of counties require low VOC paints and since the older formulas and paint don't meet these requirements, they are no longer available. There's little demand for these older colors and the paint manufactures are not spending the resources ($$) to come up with the older paint code color matches in the newer paint materials.

BTW, I was also recently told that the newer water born paints are not readily sold to consumers.

You may want to find a new jobber if yours can't mix you some paint using T012, T12, Toyota 012, or similar code.

In a worse case scenario, he should be able to get a mix from at least one brand and then cross reference that code to the brand you're using.
