I cut a piece of flat piece of 1/4" aluminum and put 4 holes in it to cover the firewall hole in my trail rig. Bolts up from the engine side in place of the blower housing. It gives a nice mounting place for aux fuse panel, relays, onboard air compressor, etc. Just another idea. Took me all of 1 hr to cut and drill, much easier with a 2nd person to hold the panel up so you can mark the holes from the inside of the firewall onto the new panel.

I built a wooden box for another rig that keeps a couple of quarts of oil handy in the engine bay.
