Wow! Talk about a beautiful basket case!
I have talked to several people about FJ25 wiring harnesses over the years. If someone out there has an FJ25 OEM harness set they would trust me with I would love to get it and document it so I could build new ones. The harnesses would be un-taped to determine where the splices are then depending on what you wanted, I could simply tape it back up as is, or repair it (If it's needed or is possible to do so. I don't know how fragile an original FJ25 wiring harness would actually be) and tape it back up. I would also offer to that person a new harness at a huge discount just for the privilege. This would be a 50% discount! Contact me at fj40coolerman at gmail dot com if you have an intact harness set you are willing to loan me.

I have one from a 1964 . Does that count?

Well... not really :D though about 5 years ago that would have REALLY helped me out!
I have good template jigs for the 64-to 67 harnesses and after comparing schematics, the FJ25 is a lot different. Many circuits are the same but some are not. In order to build a true OEM replacement harness I need an actual early FJ25 harness... :(

In my mind's eye, I have one. But I have no idea where I put it Mark.

I am sure you have one. Hopefully not a victim of the fire...:(
If you run across it keep me in mind! I was hoping you were going to come back with, "Oh yeah I have 5 of those in a box in the warehouse."

I have a harness at 50% off.

This may be helpful: Wiring Diagram

I'll fix the dead link later. Post up a new thread for Q&A on the harness build, be glad to have it here.

Also have a few harnesses available if needed.

What? Jim have you made some spare harness? Please don't laugh, I couldn't follow forum on regulary in the past and missed on many repors which now I am struggling to source.

Cruiser_Nerd I appreciate the schematic. I actually already had that one. Got it when I mined MUD for schematics a while back.
I will start a new thread once I receive the harness.

Once I receive the harness, mount it to a template board, un-tape it, and document each circuit I will then layout the template so that I can build them for other folks if they are interested.

A quick look at the schematic shows unused fuses? I see now why these harnesses are rare, they are a fire waiting to happen...:D
The question is: Do folks want a true OEM harness or one that has been modified a bit to protect the truck better? A later 6 circuit fuse block would still look OEM but provide for more circuit protection. At a minimum I would suggest adding a master fusible link to the main power circuit.

Feedback on what circuits burns up the most would help determine what to fuse.

I'm looking forward to this! Being so rare, it will be great to help someone bring a FJ25 back to life...

IMO the sixth circuit is a great idea, and I know exactly what should be done with it. The charging circuit should be separated from the turn signal circuit. It is the bane of my '64 harness in my LWB.

I would personally prefer being safer over true OEM any day / all day and don't think this would make FJ25 any less rare. It will be nice to keep 5 fuse block for OEM look and add another small box hidden somewhere.

Once I start building them I can let the owner decide if they want pure OEM or if they want more safety. A master fusible link would be invisible to anyone not knowing EXACTLY what they were looking at and it would be a simple matter to put a small fuse box somewhere hidden to protect other circuits.

Great, please give us an idea of ball park figure / costing etc.

Pricing starts at $10,000 and goes up depending on how pretty your truck is. The prettier it is, the more expensive the harness...
