Just pointing out the obvious, but make sure you weld the ear with it bolted to a bellhousing so you keep the alignment....

Ha, ya I figured as much. Too bad the PO also re-tapped the hole in the bellhousing for a 1/2" bolt. The stock bolts for the trans to bellhousing are some weird size like an M13x1.5? I dont have a tap or thread chaser that size in any of my kits.

I got the drive shafts, e-brake, and shift levers back on. The clutch seems to engage ok, but I'm going to do the adjustment procedure from the fj25 CD. I got the drivers seat in so I could work the clutch pedal and it feels smoother than before. So then, I hit the brake pedal and in true FJ25 finicky fashion, it goes to the floor. I check the reservoir and its dry. I think the rebuild on the wheel cylinders didnt take. There were no puddles on the floor but there is evidence of a leak on the inside of two of the tires.

New gas and battery

Been over four years since I driven this 25. New gas and battery and it started right up. Anti-freeze looked fine but the oil needs to be changed. It was 117 degrees in Phoenix today. Mid eighties for the highs at the cabin. Left for the oven around 5:30PM it was 62 degrees and raining at the cabin.

Is this trivia? Because I'm sure many of you know the answer.

As a "know-nothing", I'd say the one on the right is significantly newer. Clues? Taillights, Door Handle, and aha! Wiper position.

How'd I do? :p

Wasn't meant to be trivia. This was just the first time I have my two beige cruisers side by side. But as for clues. The one on the left could be a 70 or 71 model. The side marker lights replaced the reflectors with the 70 model year. Starting with the 72 model the barn doors only had two footman loops pre door. This is a 10/69 70 model. The one on the right could be a 75 or 76 model. The ambulance doors started with 75 model. The 77 model had vent vent windows in the back sides. Plus the 75 and 76 were the only two model years that had full panel spare tire carrier on the driver's side. Starting with the 77 model it was tube frame.

I'm not saying anything till I have pictures, but I'm about to pop! Suffer.....:bounce:

Spit and Polish

Spent Sunday giving The 25 a spit and polish - She is making an appreance at the National 4x4 Show this coming weekend. I didn't realise that I could camoflage it against my fence. Photo of my third youngest as we added two more (identical) boys a coupe of weeks ago to the fold enjoying hitting the horn and seeing over the steering wheel.

Twins a couple weeks old and you find time to prep and take the 25 to a 4X4 auto show, ah to be young. Congrats Rob. Spent the day baby sitting grandkids is enought to wear me out. Of course hanging out by the pool in the 110 plus heat doesn't help either. Now that I have the old 25 back on the road I think I will treat her to a wash and wax. Owned her over nine years and I've never washed her.:whoops:

Congrats on the new additions

Thanks Lads - I am as surprised as you about being allowed to work on and Show the 25 - considering maybe my wife wasn't quite as informed of my purchase and importing of Jim's 25 as I might have thought and thus it has been under a restricted movement order. I'll post up some info from the show when it is done and dusted although here is a link.

This one is under restricted movement also. My my wife was well imformed ahead time otherwise I think I would be divorced. Our agreement was I sell off some of my project vehicles before the restrictions come off. First picture is from the PO of this cruiser in the seventies. Second picture is of how it looks today.
