I don't have a problem paying for extra material. I would like to have it so it will match the rest of the top. The only reason I asked was because the old KayLine tops use to come will extra material for the door skins. Those only covered the bottom part of the door. You would unscrew the C channel from around the outside just the same as our door but it didn't wrap around the windows, so no sewing required. I'm sure all of us who have original soft top doors are going to want to have the same material to do the doors.

On the bows I can get you the measurement on monday night Feb. 19th. I have one from a FJ25 Plus three bows from later FJ40s. Hopefully all our FJ25 and Phil early Fj40 bow will match

On the seat covers I'm going to try and find somebody local to make a few sets for me out of a material that original red:eek: I like SOR grey covers but I don't think Toyota switched to grey until some where between 66 and 68.

John

Just saw your post Mike let me know any measurements on any of the bows you want. I only going up ever other week during the winter, so after this coming weekend it will two weeks after than until I up there again. I have two sets of B post bow and two sets of pieces over the doors. Only one set of back bow and runners and small center bow. I know the small center bow was quite different than the FJ40 bow

and floor to center of cross bar tabs?

Floor to center of tab 35-1/4", I think the difference in height is above the tab.

I take measurements this weekend to compare to the later FJ40 rear bow. I will probably bring back the full set of FJ25 bows just in case something else comes up.

Measured two bows tonight, the 1960 25 rear bow is 35 1/4 floor to center of tab, like Nerd's.

Interesting though on the 61 40, early production, 34 1/2 floor to center tab...nearly identical to the 25, just a bit shorter between the lower bends and the tab...I guess I would fit a 25 top to this one and just shim it up till tight.

Edit: 25 bows are 40 1/4 from floor to top of tube, centered, bow could be slightly tweeked.
40 bows are 39 1/2 from floor to top of tube, centered

Phil, what's your total height at the center of the bows?

Is an inch difference really going to make a difference when the straps are tightened down?

Yeah it would, it would all be bunched down around the footman loops for the shorter bow.

I measured my late 1960 FJ25 this weekend. 35 1/4" to the center of tab and
40" from the ground to the top of the bow just the same as the other 25s. My FJ40 rear bows also mearure 35 1/4" to the center of the tab the the bows are a little taller. Phil does the center bow of the early FJ40 measure the same as the 25 bows?

So general consensus is 40" to the center and 35 1/4 to the center of the tab? If we all agree that is what it should be, I'll have my bow cut and re-welded to match.
I think that would work for my rigs, my slightly shorter 40 bow must have been made on a Monday, easy to work around.
Phil does the center bow of the early FJ40 measure the same as the 25 bows?
Yep, the 61 40 center bow is the same as the 25

We are now impervious to your picture-less posts...teasing is so.....yesterday:rolleyes:

Did I mention I'm in for three?
