Cody C,
Those towers look pretty good! Nice and beefy!
What shocks are you running?

Chicago

i was running monroes but im now running shocks off a 3/4 ton quad cab hemi. the rearched springs are a better match for the softer dodge shocks and they have better min and max lengths. i just have a temporary setup on the back but i think im gonna weld on some thick plate with a bolt welded to it for th rear.

There is a pic in the vanilla gorrila thread i think.

chicago nice work, I dig the two toned 62, very cool :)

Hey thanks Dieselcruiserhead....I hand painted it my self!:D
Yeah, I like the wood grain too, but its gonna have to go. I have some Pass. side cancer in the rear door and QP that is so extensive, that I wont be able to salvage the decal...
Its a bummer.

Keep checking back and gimme your feed back since youve dont this before!

No problem but there are many others who have done this many times and many more than me, FWIW.. Again the article in the tech links is pretty good.. Big things IMO are good welds: specifically when cutting and turning, and spring perches most importantly.. Good welds when welding on shock tabs & the ford mounts as well.. Then good spring choice, IE not too soft and nothing wrong with too hard but it will ride harder... And good tight steering.. Again if you follow the article in the tech links, it is mostly there.. Good luck with it.. andre

I have been trying for a day or so to post these pics...computer is pissin me off

That is not a bad approach and a lot of guys do it that way.. When the spring goes up and down it flexes the lower shock bushing laterally, not on a pivot if the pin were sticking out, similar to how I posted earlier.. That said it works fine, might kill shock bushings a little earlier, but works fine...

The shocks and bushings have been on for atleast 20000 miles and no problems as of yet...

Got any pics of the upper pins? Did you relocate them? What dimensions did you go with as far as how far apart they are mounted from one another?

I hear ya there boss,
Many people have been helping and answering questions in my quest for my SOA!
I printed off the article and have read it numerous times...
As for welds...I might take my housings in to a friend and have him weld everything up. Im using a lil 110 lincoln and though I feel VERY CONFIDENT in my welding abilities, I think I might like to have a more powerful machine burn the welds for the more serious items you mentioned above.

Thanks for the input!

Ok.....you owe me...I just got out from under the truck...10.5 inches pin to pin....I have been home sick with the stomach flu for three days but since the wife left me alone for a few I snuck out and snapped you a pic...

Be sure you go back and re- torque the tranny pan bolts....
I made that mistake, and got fluid all over my garage. I was lucky I didnt loose any bolts.
