I am at the point where I need to get springs for my FJ-45 LPB. Anyone have a good source? So far Man-A-Fre's OME kit seems to be the only game in town. $1595 plus over $200 for shipping is a bit steep. Any ideas? Thanks. J

I went with Alcan. Like them so far.
Can you tell me a little more about your LC shown here in this thread? Looks like a 43?
Its a 45. We took about 10 inch off the back end. Otherwise it would be the same as a stock troopy. We wanted a little better departure angle without making it look like it got kicked in the ass. Its a 1966 even though Toyota never made a troopy that old. We liked the style of an older cruiser so thats what we built.
I'm confused. So are you saying its a LPB that you chopped? So did you weld the bed to the cab to create a Troopy/43 type setup but w your 66? I agree the pups that have short bobbed beds do look like they were kicked in the ass.

Hi Timbo, I have a shortened 45 also currently in build stage. Can you post or send me lengths and whatever you did with the suspension and shocks. That ride height and tire size looks perfect and would like to get Alcan or someone to build me a set.
Thanks![]()
10 inches may have been the perfect number. I took 12 out of mine, but was looking for maximum departure angle. I used a set of rear OME leafs from Kurt with greasable shackles, but I removed the helper springs because I installed a U-bolt flip kit on the truck. I ordered a set of 3 inch Alcan fronts in an attempt to give the truck an even stance with all that was done with the front end.
We (Cruiser Outfitters) stock a couple different FJ45 kits at any given time, they have proven to be a great option, greasable pins for the fixed rear hangers, etc. Our price is a bit higher than others but the devil is in the details, our kits feature 100% OME parts for a superior fit/finish. We can start mixing and matching to drop the price at the buyers request. Eventually a full OME setup will end up under the Old Lady's 45 build but we have more pressing concerns like getting seat covers so she will ride in it![]()
