Todays progress

My goal today was to get the radiator installed.

What a pain that was. Nothing bolted in.


The Top Pic is the FJ 40 Radiator.

The Bottom Pic is the FJ 60 Radiator

The donor vehicle came apart but it was a fruitless venture.

The radiator out of a 40 will not work unless you fab up a new radiator support or cut the frame supports.

The radiator is not just off set but it is square with the fan. My 40's and my 60's are the same way.

I should have enough room for it. I took the measurements from my 40 and they are the same.

Here is the gap between the radiator and the front bib. It is the same as a 40.

It will have the hatchback that the 74's came with for now.

My plan is to build the entire rig and drive it to Surf and Truf 2007 for the shake down test.

I will then take it all apart and it will get paint and weatherstripping, etc.

During my FJ40 Rear bumper Build, I was welding and an ember caught a rag on fire about 10 feet away. I did not notice since I still had the helmet down. She picked up the rag and threw it in the trash can.

A few minutes later the trash can went up in flames.

This is the same measurement I took from my FJ 40 and my FJ 60.

I will be installing a flat bed with a roof rack. Similar to Mudracks rig but on an economy level.

Ah yes, the highly technical way of figuring out the height of a seat or whatever. Start stacking whatever chunks of wood/metal till best fit
