You should check out the ElementFire extinguishers. I recently began stocking them after quite a bit of research. Lots of 100 and 200 guys running them and good feedback so far. Once I can actually keep enough on hand, I will do a video using one, or at least a sample of how to get it activated. I really like the size along with how they are not pressurized and never need to be refilled.

A bit of reading here -
Element Fire Extinguisher - Any Experiences?
Element Fire Extinguisher

Let me know if you have any questions too.

That Element thing is an interesting concept and maybe a cool thing to add but in watching the video it seems hard to substantiate their claim of it lasting longer than a std ABC. A 2.5lbs will run as long or longer than what they did in their video.

If you want an extinguisher get at min a 5 lbs ABC but you’d be better off with a 10 lbs. They go fast...

Buy a bracket from wits end, then its close where you need it.

Lots of debate between the two types for sure, but I don't see much info where a 2.5lb extinguisher runs for 50 seconds, like the Element E50. It looks like the 2.5lb typically last around 10 seconds and 5lb are 15-20 seconds. You will get more time with the 5 or 10lb vs the 2.5 versions for sure, but the huge size and where to put it is a no go for me. New (although not really) and different ways to do things always create debate, but I definitely appreciate the fact that they do not expire, and leave virtually no mess after use, and are a lot smaller. When I spoke with Element about many questions and concerns, I was completely satisfied and have no reason to doubt any of their claims. They know what they are doing. Its virtually identical to the Stryker extinguishers so widely used in the outback and overseas, the US can just get the Element instead. I say get the best of both worlds. An E50 or E100, and a FEM from Wits End.

Fair enough, I was just looking at their video, it didn’t seem to last that long. That may not be a fair assement though hah.

Personally I have a 10 lb abc mounted on the passenger side where the Wits End mount would go. The Element would be a cool addition though maybe right below the driver seat.

Right below the driver seat is a great place usually but in an 80 there is really no room. That is why I posted the cans. Plus they are ....cheap insurance.

My Element E50 currently rides in the glove box or center console. Fits easy peasy.

How does tha Elements compare to the Tundra ones they sell at Costco?

Why not Halon fire extinguisher?

That’s what I have in my rig.

With all the electronics & sensors, it’s got to be way better than ABC types.

Halon leaves no residue.

the element extinguishers look like an interesting product.
I'd be interested to see them demonstrated in use with a more established fire.
Something that approximates an established fuel fire in an engine bay or under a car, not just a pan of fuel burning in the open.

I think the smaller ABE extinguishers give a bit of afalse sense of security

Sure, it's better for the electrical side but at the end of the day it's a 25 year old vehicle, not a server room, and the cost of Halotron vs ABC isn't worth it. I mean other than the mess theres really no upside to the Halotron extinguishers.

@LC4LIFE Thanks for naming the ElementFire extinguishers. I have never seen those before.

Getting a Element extinguisher in the glove and and mounting a ABC would be the smart move.

After working with ElementFire, I have decided it is all I need. I will probably put one in the back and one up front. I have also heard of them being activated and then just thrown inside the vehicle with the doors shut to put out a fire inside the vehicle. The way it bonds with the oxygen and starves the fuel is really cool.

The Element extinguishers leave no residue either and are rated for electrical fires.

I agree on the small extinguishers giving a false sense of security...I like the A,B,C, K rating of the Element.

Also, I do plan on doing a full on demonstration once I can sacrifice one. Right now, I can't keep them in stock.

you need halotron I fire extinguishing
especially if it is meant for the truck if you use powder fire extinguishing inside your vehicle you will have really nasty mess to clean
and cary biggest one you can't

Luckily the Element leaves virtually no residue.

that is correct but it is only good for putting out campfire
when fire starts in a car you have seconds to extinguish it there is no time for playing with that little thing
halotron I bottle or powder bootle r bigger and take more room but it will do more in one second burst than that little thing in 50 second

halotron I vs Element Fire Extinguisher

If you have a car fire it is most likely under the hood or inside the dash. Once that happens you have a MAJOR mess on your hands, regardless of what kind of extinguiser you put it out with.

Makes sense. Let the mother burn and collect the insurance money:beer: and go buy another one.....
