What's all this 70 Series nonsense? Toyota knows what Americans want and this is definitely it:

It has mud tires, red tow hooks for pulling Jeep Rubicons through Little Sluice and man is it sporty! Place your pre-orders today. This rugged little gem is going to sell like hotcakes. Toyota says it was designed for millennials, so you know it has to be good.

This vehicle if priced correctly would actually get me into a showroom.

70 series, manual transmission, soft top, mid length wheelbase, ac, vinyl interior, manual everything else.

There would many Jeep peeps to move over after all their horror stories with reliability.

Oh! Wait! Cancel my order on the orange one. This one has a wind-cheating roof rack, 17 gauge pressed aluminum rocker protection, bike rack, trail cameras mounted in the mirrors and an on board wifi for downloading video footage of your epic black diamond trail run through Moab. Also, yellow tow hooks rated for extraction of Unimogs. Decisions, decisions.......

I can see the Jeep guys lining up at the Toyota dealership for this one.

WTF........ Is this seriously what they came up with?

Both actual Toyota concept vehicles. Could it have been a coincidence that the green one was released on the day that Jeep announced their new JL Wrangler platform? I'm sure the green one stole a lot of Jeep's thunder, right?

Holy Moly!! Those things are seriously bad. How could you drive one of those things and keep a straight face? I think even millennials would buy something on the utilitarian side if it was sold to them right.

A base double-cab 70 series with no options has an MSRP of around $78k Australian, or $63,000 US. At that price: 1) enthusiasts will sit it out 2) it'd be competing with luxury SUV and pickups 3) Toyota would sell a few dozen. And this is before meeting US regulations...

As much as I'd love to see them bring in a 70 Series, it won't happen. They'd need to do something US-specific a la the FJC; and it will cannibalize sales from the 4R and Tacoma. I'd be less surprised if they "ruggedized" an existing platform (RAV or Highlander, by raising ride height an inch and sticking on plastic fender flares and skids) with new sheetmetal and tried to pass it off. However, with their stated goal of going all electric, chances are even slimmer...

Holy s*** that sounds unrealistically expense. Hella cool but Whoazers.

Perfect for Brad!

I dont know, if the orange one had a keurig coffee machine built in to the dash, the would buy it.

Kids today. ;<)

I do think a basic topless Toyota 4x4 would sell out quickly.

I watch the GMC commercials today and wonder if that nonsense marketing works anymore. I see the guy buying all the work out gear and then the dumb dumb that took out a 60k loan on GMC pickup truck. Not appealing to me. Do people even think like that anymore? Is GMC marketing that far behind?

But it has remote start so worth every penny! All 6 million pennies.

I don't know, I find some of their commercials highly entertaining

:poop:

Oh gawd those fake commercials are good LOL.

I might DD that orange thing. . . who knows :)

What do I know about cool cars - I have owned 2 Prius V, 2 Honda Element's and my "mid-life crisis" car before I was at mid-life was probably a Scion xB that had a fake carbon fiber applique-thing on the gas cover and low profile tires . . . .

Even now I drive a grey Tundra that is too long and has a white topper.

I will say the 96/97 LX's are pretty hawt tho . . maybe they help my previous ugly car choices :)

i'll believe it when I see it.

They could bring the 70 series over here. No idea what the price would be since we generally get vehicles for cheaper over here that the rest of the world.

Still I doubt it would sell over here except to purists.

It does look quite a bit like the Scion xB - in it's styling - so that may be why you're okay with it.
