Hi all,

Joined a few months ago and have been absent for a while. I've got a 1994 Landcruiser (US Spec, Arizona most of it's life) here in Vancouver BC. It's in pretty good shape, save some minor cosmetic and electrical issues. It's my daily driver (when not on the Duc) and weekend warrior. I've added the ARB Bumper (yes because I wrecked the original) and put on some 33" Yokohamas.

I went US Spec because my ex-girlfriend bagged about not wanting a RHD. Should have taken it as a sign she was doomed to be an ex.

Won't bother raving about my vehicle, no sense preaching to the converted.

I went from a beautiful '01 Forerunner to this a year ago. Haven't regretted it at all, except maybe when I fill the thing up.

Solved a few issues and am enduring a few as well.

Came across The four wheelers Companion: Off Road Guide to SW BC by Mark Bostwic in a used bookstore. The edition I have is somewhere in the mid 80's but I think there some later editions out there. Haven't made any of the trips yet…so many opportunities…so little time. If you're local no doubt you know many of the trails but they all look intriguing to me. Hope to get up there sometime. Welcome.

Welcome. I wouldn't get to bummed out about missing out on an hdj81. They have thier own issues that cant be solved by just fixing the truck - insurance companies are starting to refuse to insure them, apparently Canada is moving toward a 25 year rule for importing, Toyota does not support them, some parts can only be got out of country, and NA diesel fuel is/has changed to a low sulfur formula that as i recall requires that these guys always add fuel lubrcant to protect thier fuel pumps. Also, the hdj81 uses a 24v starting system. Try finding a 24v boost when you need one, I never could.
