Thanks for the info unclear! I think I am going to just pull the whole thing since I plan on replacing the gasket for the manifold all together as well as testing for flatness.

LOL had a first yesterday!!!
Last weeks storms brought like 3days of pretty much non-stop rain. With that I found that there is a nice, acre or two lot near my office that is all dirt and has a couple nice mud holes that guys have made with their trucks. So yesterday while headed to a meeting with my superiors I noticed that the holes were filled with water and thought, I need to hit those tonight!

Well on the way home I made it happen, first run through them and I soak the dizzy (apparently) and get stuck in the third hole mid way! DOH!!! Nice guy driving buy on the street saw me and came over and pulled me out. Gave the dizzy some time to dry and called Flighht2k over to come have some fun. Got things moving again and we made a few runs through all the puddles!

Sorry no pics, but was a first for me to "kill" the truck for a good 20 minutes while the dizzy dried out. Note to self, keep can of WD-40 in the truck and I need to put the dizzy cover thingy on!

 NOOOOOB!!!

Hey there is a first for everything Dan! And the funniest part was by the time Flighht2k got to me my truck has already started and on one of his runs he almost got stuck in the SAME PUDDLE!!! He just died outside the puddle!!!

Tranny to T-case bypass hose needed.

So I finally got a chance to check my tranny and t-case level while I have the skid plate off.
And as I feared the tranny is overfilling from the t-case. On top of that since it is actually bright out and I have the skid off I can see that the seal was apparently replaced at some point because there is orange RTV between the tranny and t-case.

So in the essence of time (which I have little to drop the tranny and get this taken care of) where can I get one of the bypass hose kits? Or if not can someone point me to a thread with the proper parts to build myself? I did find one thread but the description for parts was limited and I would like to source everything locally so I can get it done quickly.

EDIT: Nevermind, found the kit from SOR so will be ordering that in essence of time.
And just in case anyone comes by this thread and looks for this... http://www.sor.com/cat068B.sor That is the link to the bypass hose under the "Case Assembly, Seals & Gaskets" tab at the very bottom. I know it is SOR and expensive as hell but still lots cheaper than a new tranny/t-case until I have the ability/time to drop the tranny and work on it.

G, call Jason at CY.. He got my old (new) one in the pile of parts I sold him before I left TX. Should be WAY CHEAPER..

How about just drilling a hole in each of the fill plugs and tapping and threading in a brass barb fitting and a connecting hose? ~$15 and 45min tops.

Eh whatever.. At this point I dont want to mess with this and take the chance of messing something up Darrell so I will go with the kit.

J, thanks for the heads up but its a done deal already so I will just stick with the new kit and leave yours for the next poor fool.

Been a little bit since I updated so figured I would throw some things that are in the works right now out there...

1. Purchased new wiring kit from @Fourrunner with the addition of the fused section between the ALT and battery. Have yet to install, that is on the agenda for Friday.
2. Once the above is in I will throw on my SLCFJ62 wiring harness/ultimate kit upgrade on as well and see how much she brightens the night. Not bad now as-is or at least from my knowledge.
3. Just ordered new OEM Rotors and front wheel studs (all 12) from Onur (@beno) for a great price. Should be here by end of week
4. Just ordered knuckle rebuild kits for front axle with Marline Seals from Georg (@orangefj45 . Having family pick up this week while there are down there (just didnt hook up with Georg while I was at the swap meet)
5. Also ordered some new 555 TREs from him as well. More of a "while I'm in there" situation but a good use of $100ish.
6. Georg is also sending me a new toy, only $29 but apparently something he hasnt sold in a while nor has been offered. Will post up pics once I have.

So the swap meet was awesome, saw some great trucks. Talked with some great guys from MUD and took my dad along with me to show him what we do. He was telling me that when they lived in Australia that they had a freind (peggy) that owned either and FJ44 or FJ47 troopy that she took and circumnavigated the island in a summer. Apparently, she was a big fan of TAB so my dad helped her load a few flats of it into the Land Cruiser. He really enjoyed seeing all the "neat" trucks (neat is his "cool/bitchin/rad" to our generation) and I did my best to convince him to see about getting and FJ45 pickup or FJ40 as a fun daily driver (answer was "it would be neat but I dont have a need for 2 cars, let alone the 3 I have or even a fourth).

Anyways, I ended up walking away with empty hands (not to say that someone....cough @KWalkerM cough.... didnt try) but it wasnt all a bad thing. When dad and I got home that night the talk about the friends LC in AU sparked us talking about camping when I was a kid and the "MONSTROUSITY" that was my parents 70s tent. Well low and behold my dad still had IT!!!! He pulled it out of the shed and we set it up, still in good condition after sitting in our shed for close to 20yrs. So I took it off his hands, going to use it and cart it around in BeBe and even found a shop in Sparks that is going to take a look at it to see if they can repair some of it (few rips here and there).

I give you ..... <name pending> our new family CANVAS tent (made by Terka Tents with Technolen).

So the weekend was not even close to a complete waste and though I did not come home with cruiser parts (LOL... they are being shipped) I did come away with something AWESOME!!

@reevesci I do live in NV so it wouldnt be out of the ordinary! Dude this thing is older than I am (and probably in better shape!)

So 80 series brush guard greg?!

Like I kept telling you... you buy me the 80 series for it to go on and I will buy the brush guard from you! :flipoff2:

Ok so parts will be hear for the knuckle rebuild by early next week and with the wife being gone next weekend for a training class I am thinking I may take that opportunity to pull the axle apart (as I will have another vehicle).

Anyways,
- Grease/Lube which do you guys recommend? I know that someone said that the Redline CV-2 was great for the birfields/axles so I will grab two tubes of that. What other greases do I need?
- Rotors With the new rotors do I need to have them turned or should they be completely flat? Taking them to have the new studs pressed in so might as well get them turned as well if needed.
- Will be picking up brass drifts and a BFD (big f'ing deadblow) to do some of the work and then will rent a TRE puller from one of the auto parts stores.
- Still got about a gallon of 80w90 left over so I will drain the front diff and refill with fresh fluid.

Anything I am forgetting? Thinking I will probably get some new TRE boots but gotta see if my local places carry them. If not there is a Summit in Reno that I can hit up.
