Hey Everybody!

We have been invited to the Fiesta de los Cerrillos event this year and we have been asked to invite other Toyota Friends to bring out their classics. The organizers are wanting to create a classic car show and they know we have a few classics, and they know we have friends with some as well!

The date is Saturday, August 31st
Fiestas are 10a - 3p arrive

We need to arrive at between 9-9:30am to park before pedestrians we could clear out any time after 2pm.

We will be stationed at the main entrance to the village and will have the corner and down the streets of First and Main.

Bring a spec sheet on your rig because you know there will be questions.

Fiestas are a family friendly event with food, vendors, live music, Spanish dancers, arts & crafts and can be a fun place to mingle with locals and learn a little history about how Cerrillos was seriously considered the first capital of New Mexico! And how Cerrillos has the oldest turquoise mine in the US. Cerrillos has a lovely restaurant called Black Bird Salon with a cool setting of the old west salon. The Cerrillos Hills State Park headquarters is located at first and main and there are lots of hiking trails in the hills if you need to get away.

Last year they had the El Dorado Car Club come out and they only had like 3-4 cars show up, we would like to fill up the space that they have provided for us.

Would you be willing to bring out your classic cruiser or truck or your built rig? If so, please mark your calendar and let us know so we can make a list and let's make this a fun day with friends, family and awesome rigs!! Please invite your friends who have classics but who are not on Mud or Facebook or Instagram. Bring your family and friends to enjoy the day with you and your cruiser-friends.

Land Cruisers
Toyota 4X4s
Built Rigs - like Larry's built 200 series...

Bring out those hidden rigs, those cool builds, those restored LandCruisers and Pickups and get those classics out to play and show them off!! Some of us have a lot of long hours in our rigs and it can be rewarding to show others our progress.
Bring out your GEMS!!

Maybe a BBQ after if you are wanting to hang out longer... we could make it a full day! There are some dirt roads we could adventure onto if you want to play.

Would a 93 Toyota 4x4 diesel van be considered a classic?

Yes!!

Do you have another one??

All 4x4s are welcome like, classic restored, built FJ40s/60s/80s, restored FJ40s/60s, built 80s/100s/200s, crawlers, overlanders, rare vehicles, anything cool to check out!

I would, but this date might conflict with my late summer adventure.

Yes, I still have my first van. I just wrecked the 2nd van much to my dismay. But just got the TownAce back from repair and considerable upgrades.

Maybe we could wrap up your late summer adventure or start one right after! We will be looking for adventure in Sept for sure... I hear ya!!

I put it in my calendar.

The issue is Overland Expo starts Aug 23rd, and I was thinking of starting my adventure that weekend.

Aw shucks. I've got a group trip planned that weekend. Probably nobody would care to see my mildly built 25-year old 100-series anyway.

I put this on my Calendar, if my wife doesn’t have me booked I will attend. Is there a cost or anything like that for attending?

No cost. Our community reached out to us and asked if we wanted to gather cool classic Toyotas for the Fiestas and do a show. We told them we have some friends that might wanna show off their cool cruisers and trucks!

We are also talking about a camp out and then wheeling in an area north of Santa Fe that we have not gotten to explore much yet. Lots of different levels of wheeling, some cool rock crawling spots and some mellow crawling or just wheeling. Kind of a scouting mission as we play. We could make this a fun weekend adventure that’s not too far from home!

Hope your weekend is open! I would love to have you and your 45 TMT join us.

Alrighty guys,
I’m meeting the organizers for the Toyota Classic 4x4 show today at noon.
They are going to ask me how many vehicles so we know our space size.

Who else wants to join us??

We will be doing some wheeling either after the festival or the following morning for those who would like to camp out. Looking at going out to SF National forest area on the Glorieta Mesa. My brother has 10 acres where we can either camp out there or at our place. Once I get a good confirmation and an idea what ppl want to do, I’ll post more solid details. So let us know if you are interested in camping and wheeling and what rig you’re bringing if I have question you.

I have so far:
@ststephen69s - diesel van
@Old Dirty Beard - Troopy
@4Cruisers - 40 or 60?
@POTATO LAUNCHER - 40 or 60?
@BryanH - 60 and another…
@nomadcruisers -80 ?
@rlocke49 - 60
@Tank5 - FJ45
@Mauser -LX

Maybe:
@Dumpolina - mini pickup?
Michael R - mini pickup
Rich H - old truck (non Toyota)
Rich’s friend fj40

Jeremy B - fj40
@Poupon - 200

We can fill in with our:

Would love to see you and your LX there… some rigs are inspiring to others!! I’ll put you in the maybe list!
Thanks for replying!

i'm assuming the RV park north end of town where the car show will take place? I can't come up with another large spread in Madrid!!

Not Madrid, Cerrillos and I’m meeting today to see where they are placing us. Probably at first and main. Parked along the road way at an angle.

Wanna join us? Bring your set up to show what we can do on the trail?

cool. I need to read more......

I'm mostly a web wheeler and a keyboard quarterback but let me see if I can swing it.
