Looking for information on Black fender flare "pad" gasket.

The long piece for the front flare (color: black) has two part numbers

53851-60060-C0
and
53852-60040-C0

I'm guessing one is for the early fiberglass flares and the other for the later ones.

This is to replace the perished rubber on my '93. Any guidance on which one I need? And what the difference is, if any?

Planning to buy several of the long pieces and cut to fit. I already tried the Mud-sourced aftermarket rubber and wasn't impressed.

TIA

Other members have ordered this from the Toyota parts counter. Seems that black is the only color available, so your in luck there. The parts counter should be able to direct you to the correct part number. Curious what they say. Please post

My local Toyota store is basically worthless. I only use them in emergencies or for cheap parts which aren't worth shipping from an online discount dealer.

Last i tried you could only get 1 of the gaskets. The longest one. You cut it down to size depending on application. I purchased white so maybe that makes it different

I just did my 94, cut to fit off the longest rubber. OEM is the way to go. I also got new hardware too, nothing better than tight fitting flares with new gaskets and hardware! I'm a with flares sort of guy.

Can you check the part number?

I have had good experience with McGeorge Toyota - even online - as far as I can tell, they are located in a northern part of Virginia

I believe @SUMMIT CRUISERS sells precut sets.

I have a set of flare gaskets from Summit Cruisers as well as all new OEM hardware for the fender flares. Was going to refresh my set, but decided to go flareless. Willing to let them go for a reasonable price, PM me.

If the OP passes, I may be interested. Thx!

Here are some pictures. The fit is excellent and just like it should be with OEM parts. The installation was easy, just clean the surfaces really good. There is a sticky side to the new gasket, so just make sure you wipe down the surface with some alcohol to insure a nice clean adhesion. I bought new hardware, but only needed a few pieces because even after 25 years 85% of the hardware was still good and wasn't worth replacing, but it was nice to have. Just take your time and make sure you get all the nuts off before you start pulling out the flares. There are a few YouTube videos that I watched before I started. I would let the gaskets sit in the sun for a few hours before I put them on, that always helps with rubber parts. Just take your time and you will be happy with the results.

See, that's the proper profile for this rubber.

The aftermarket stuff is curved the wrong way and won't bridge the gap on my fiberglass flares. I had miserable time doing the first piece I tried, which was the difficult shape of the rear door.

One flare has already been done on my '93 and it was the proper OEM part. It fits perfectly. I wanted to get the rest in equally good condition.

I've been trying to replicate the work done by professionals when the PO had the right front flare replaced.

It looks perfect.

So I tried my hand with the aftermarket stuff and even with a lot of fiddling, the fit sucks. Won't bridge the gap, and the profile is wrong.

The rubber is totally perished on my 95k mile '93.

Measured the lengths of the runs and confirmed that the front fenders are ~1" longer than the rears. Ordered 53852-60040-C0 from McGeorge. $24.76 per. Shipping was only $7 within Virginia.

Thank you to @450LX

I ordered 4 pieces the front flare and cut two for the rears worked just fine
