Greetings everyone.

We had a request to design and build a OE reproduction speaker mount that held a 4"x6" speaker. We have it drawn and going to have them made. We will supply hardware to mount it.

If you were not aware that the 40's had a stock speaker, it was bolted to the glove box under the dash above the kick vent. Most were removed and tossed, we have had one for years and replicated it to fit.

Many of us want to run a factory radio as we're purist's and don't want to cut holes anyplace, this is the solution.

Any interest in is? I am hoping to be at $25 shipped.

Best,

Shane

Doh

I jut chucked a speaker and mount in the dump.

Sent from iPhone

That's ok, the factory was junk and paper. The mount does not fit any speaker on the planet with the welded posts. I tried hard to find a replacement speaker and nothing fit and the hole was tiny.

Although I did shoehorn a crappy Boss 4x6 speaker into my OEM mount, the problem with the OEM mount is that it has a smaller circular opening for the sound rather than a larger oval like the one proposed above. They're also rather difficult to find in my experience. There seem to be plenty of the older, perforated box-looking protectors that mount in the pocket, but very few of the style imitated above, not to mention they sell for more than $25. I'd rather have the one here than an OEM.

whats the solution for an enclosure? there wont be any low end at all without putting a box around it
