I just wanted to do a review after 3 months of wheeling for these bushings. I installed eBay rocar/front and febest rear bushings and so far I've seen good results. After 6 trips of wheeling hard the bushings are in great shape. I just wanted to tell you guys as no one has mentioned these bushings.

Although Rocar has had great reviews on the 100 forum.

Are these control arm bushings?

Actually several folks have discussed the febest bushing and none of the opinions have been too complimentary but many posts lack real world experiences though some Failures have been documented. Havent heard of the rocar. Perhaps you got lucky or they have changed material but id be curioua as to how hey hold up over time. Hopefully those will continue to service you well. keep us updated.

I've replaced two sets of Febest for mudders. Less than a year on them. Not worth saving a few bucks when you have to do the work all over and so soon.

Replace them in a year? My OEM were holding litterally by a thread.

I'll tell you REAL world vs OEM in a year if they really hold up the the test. It's hard to believe that rubber can really be that bad. I mean there isn't bionic rubber right?

But it took what, 20 years to tear up the OEM? And yes, there are many different rubber compounds.

It's definitely not worth it to save $50-100 on bushings when you'll be paying 3x that price for somebody to R&R them again

THIS X 10!!! Not trying to flame the OP, but if he had spend a few minuets doing a search on Mud, he'd of found out that the stock factory Toyota bushings are superior to anything on the aftermarket. Plus there are more then a few Mud members who wheel their trucks really hard every weekend all over the world with stock factory bushing, that have gotten years of use out of them. In my mind, and wallet, that's the kind of quality product i want on my truck. Just my 2 cents, YMMV.

Seriously x10 the amount to install. You must be ripping people off. 2 bolts for the rear and shop charges me $20 for removal and install for each bushing. I can do that over the corse of 5 years and still not buy 1 rear control arm OEM bushing. They must really be made of spacecraft material because OEM wants over $80 each and eBay sells them for $12.

I'm just telling you my REAL experience with them. If you don't like them that's fine, but there is no reason for you guys to BOMB my thread.

NLXTACY. You must love to spend money on OEM parts, it shows on your overheating rebuild thread, but hoses I bought from O'reillys thats made out of condoms still haven't blown yet.

People actually look to this forum for support and you OEM natzi's really love to mislead people with your "I know everything" opinions. So we heard your opinion and now stay off this thread like a little baby shouting for everyone to break they're wallets open to use what you use.

Like I said. It's been 3 months of tough wheeling about 6 trips/7000 miles of rock crawling/over landing and I have Zero issues with the rubber showing any signs of de·te·ri·o·ra·tion.

I'll follow up next year and take a picture of it.

Out of all of the whining and crying you JUST displayed yet I'm the one you choose to call out. Some of us have a little more experience than others. I hope your choice doesn't bite you in the ass and they last forever, actually, I really don't care if they do or don't.

BUT for those that are brand new to this site looking for EXPERIENCED advice, well follow that or listen to the OP. But keep in mind that "I told you so" runs STRONG on this forum  :rainbow:

It's been 3 months

I love how you've had them for 3 months and already came to the conclusion they are just as good as OEM

I'm not an OEM nazi by any means. Hell, I didn't even buy OEM rubber bushings - I went with poly for my rear control arms because I'll be changing my rear suspension eventually. But if people say that the cheap aftermarket bushings were no good and had to be replaced after a short period of time, why would you dismiss that?

I never said that these are as good as OEM. And I'm a man to my word. If these break loose after a year of HARD WHEELING, then all the I told you so's can pour out. But with what I've put them through has me believing otherwise.

So please read and stop putting "FAKE NEWS".

Thanks for sharing. Febest or rocar aftermarket bushing is generally ok for short terms use. They are cheap and I can sell them if I want to, but choose not to, for on road vehicle usually they are ok. But they are definitely not the same as Genuine Toyota bushings, far from it. Bear in mind the LC is built for at least 20 yrs life span, so pretty much it is built with the best material. That is why you see many 80 still with original bushing til today with no issues. Same apply to other parts in the LC. For an example, many people does not know that the 80 Aisin water pump from rock auto are 2nd quality water pump rejected by Aisin to supply to Toyota or other 1st quality parts seeking buyer. It is not the same quality pump but good enough to regular consumer without noticing the difference. When I swapped out all the controls arms bushings couple of yrs ago on my 97, they are all in great shape, did it as preventive.

For peace of mind and if budget allow Genuine parts is still the best choice especially if you travel to remote area frequently and plan to keep the vehicle for a long time. I learn hard lessons too in the past with so called " life time warranty" parts from big box store, amount of time involve to replace the parts is not worth it to start with when the parts fail in short period of time. Enuf said, report back in a year will be great. :)

Some aftermarket stuff is the same as oem. Some is not and quality varies. I replaced my rear main on my 80 series with a aftermarket seal that was half the price of oem. Matched it up with old oem seal-exactly the same. El cheapo motor mounts I bought aftermarket from same online company-exactly the same as oem with Toyota numbers on them. I asked a buddy about them, he said,"oh yea thats who makes Toyota's mounts." It's taken trial and error to learn what's good or not so good for me. As far as bushings go, some of the failures may have been how they were installed, or they may be lower quality.

I had good results with anchor engine mounts. 5 years on the original and all is still good.
