I've never tried the BG44K, but I have heard many people rave about it. I second the Seafoam through the PCV and Im a big fan of Techron.

Techron.

Where does one get BG44K? I only see it advertized at shops, where I am expected to pay them to put it in.

acetone! 4-6ozs per tank. I've noticed up to a 10% or so increase in mileage. The idea is increase fuel atomization after injection prior to ignition, increasing percentage of fuel burned in the cylinder, aka efficiency. Maximizing the idea of gas burns better as a gas not a liquid, reducing surface tension. I'm not the pro, did my research on the Internet(multiple sources) and tried it myself with noticeable results.

Let the inquisition/bashing begin.

They already do... Chevron Techron.

The Chevron station is 10 cents MORE than the Smiths just down the street, where I normally fill up.

I gas up with Chevron 93 octane with Techron almost 98% of the time - I pass a Chevron Station if I take a more local route through a more "urban" section of town as I head to work downtown - often .10 or more LESS than other brands 93 octane and often less than their mid-grade. Techron is all I use.

My brother recommends Techron...a 30 year master Toyota tech. Works for me.

I haven't ever noticed any increase in mileage or horsepower using additives. I do add Lucas to my vehicles and lawnmowers on occasion and never have to worry if they've been sitting for a long time, they fire right up. I haven't tried BG44k yet, but I will and if it makes any noticeable difference I will come back and admit it.

I hadn't heard of BG44k either. I have used Seafoam to clean things up by sucking it through a vac line on the intake and then shutting my vehicle down. Let it sit for about 15 minutes and then fire it up. I did this on a 94 Jeep Cherokee with about 140K and an Eagle Talon with 120K or so. Both instances produced the equivalent of a James Bond smoke screen for about 2 minutes. Afterwards, idling was much smoother but I can't say anything about mileage and so on. I've used Slick50 which did lower my oil consumption in a 1990 Mustang LX 5.0. I've also used Lucas in the Cherokee which "quieted" things down.

BG44k is the only thing worth spending $$ on. IMHO:D

Agreed, although my experience and really exhaustive research shows that Chevron Techron is really remarkably good, just not as good as BG 44K. I have also heard that Redline SI1 is good but I've never tried that to compare or seen all sorts of engines opened up after using only the BG or the Chevron and I've had some problems in particular with Redline Watter Wetter so I sorta avoid their products.

I think that sentence and this sentence ...

I haven't tried BG44k yet, but I will and if it makes any noticeable difference I will come back and admit it.

sorta go together. In other words, until you've tried the BG stuff you probably wont see any significant improvements although I'll admit that you won't necessarily see an increase in horsepower or mileage after using 44K either ... it is really a matter of before and after ... if before the vehicle was really in sad shape in terms of the injectors, combustion chamber, exhaust system, etc. then you will see some significant gains ... but if the vehicle was already really well tuned you won't notice any actual gains and it will be more for maintenance reasons than improvement reasons. Still, you gotta try the 44K and really run it through the tank on a long tough trip if possible.

This prolly helps with some of the oily deposits on the inside of the intake and it helps with the carbon in combustion chamber but it cannot help with the fuel filter or the fuel injectors and it is a really abrupt treatment compared to the 250 miles or so of driving you'll do with an additive in the tank. On the other hand, no tank additive will touch the inside of the intake so yer gettin some goodness with that. Still, the absolute best combination of controlling all the crap that constantly accumulates is a PCV catch can and the use of BG 44K. HTH.

BG 44K did wonder for my car

Until recently I could get only 25.25 mpg city in my 2001 Toyota Echo despite my conservative, energy-saving driving style and good vehicle maintenance. Then my nephew, who runs a gas station, sold me a fuel additive that he said really works: BG 44K.

After putting in a half-can into a full tank of gas, the mileage gradually began to increase--first to 27-plus mpg after two weeks to 33 mpg after eight weeks, despite an EPA estimate of 27 mpg city for this car (which might be partially due to my driving conservatively and to filling up every half-empty tank, thereby keeping more BG 44K in my fuel).

Albany, NY, area TV WRGB Channel 6 ran a test on BG 44K and found that it works. See http://www.bgprod.com/news/fuelStory.html. BG 44K is available at many service stations.

If even 10 percent of drivers increased their mileage by 2 mpg, that would be a lot. Try BG 44K, and if it works for you, pass it on.

Quit the petty stuff, deal with the information

Large type is more easily readable...sorry if that offends you...you'll notice this is a lot smaller...also the testimony I gave on BG is true, not matter how spammy it sounds...it's based on my own monitoring of mpg over time...I hoped that my "testimony" would be useful for people who are trying to beat high gas prices...I don't work for BG or own stock in the company...just trying to be helpful...I've noticed that it's easy for people in forums to be smart-alecky while not offering constructive ideas themselves...the country needs creative, enterprising people to get us through this major security crisis.
