Hopefully this should give some insight to those who want to run high speed off-road setups on their LC's. I finished setting up my king shocks only to have them damaged after a high speed sprint through the desert. The resulting damage was i sent the control arm ball joint bolts clean through inner fenders and just missed my brake lines by a hair. After further inspection, i found that the rear shocks were in fact damaged and lost all their oil from a severe landing that wasn't caught on camera. The Upper control arms for the front require a bump stop extension spacer so that the bolts never get close to the top of the inner fender as well as not to hyper extend the ball joint bolt out of place. As for the rear, the 90 degree fitting for the hose on the shock body came into contact with the frame and sheared off since the shocks attitude changes as the axle moves up and down. On full compression it is possible to contact the frame, i will solve this by turning the shock body around and extending the reservoir hose. Here are the damage pics:

And to give you guys a good show, heres how i wheel out in my part of the world

Sorry to read about the damage ! Though a bit surprising that your high speed sprint didn't looked in such a bad terrain, i.e. mostly sand ! Don't know much about kings, but have seen a radflo setup with TC UCAs handling the challenge superbly.

You sticking with kings?

Good grief.

The damage was not caused in the video, that was just a reference to the terrain. I hit a bump at 120km/h (75mph) and it was hard enough to get the cruiser to bounce 2 times when it landed sideways and had very bad kick-back in the rear. I wasn't able to get that on camera unfortunately. I think at that point the shocks had done all they could do, I am happy with the kings but the camera just doesn't show how bumpy the terrain is. I am also using TC UCA's so it should have helped my case a little. Your maxxis bighorn video is coooool! ماشالله

This second video should give better perspective i hope:

Second video is awesome too. You are a rally driver !! May I ask how much you paid for the TC UCA in UAE and the supplier contact?

Sent you a PM

I love that last shot. You've got some big brass cojones.

You need to take it off of bigger jumps than that! Live up to the Emirati reputation. .... did Turkish this weekend. :)

Don't torture me with fooooood, or else i'll be on the next flight with GCC cruiser goodies :D

Hey how are your TC UCAs holding up?
They're fine, had to replace the uniball once as they started to clatter after 3 seasons and now back at it again on the third cruiser. i'll post more details shortly.
