That's right. Fans. My wife inherited two GE fans. I'm assuming they are from the early 1900's. She never plugged them in and from what she told me they haven't been plugged in for 60 years. So what do I do. I plugged them in and lo and behold they work. Now I want to restore them and give her one for our wedding anniversary for her office.

So any of you out there have any old fans?

Any traces of blood on the leading edges?

Exactly. Really nice fans but I wouldn't let you or your wife run one in any office in our company. It doesn't meet current work place safety standards.

Don't get me wrong; they are really nice and I would run one in my workshop in a second but not in a public work place.

I have one I found at a garage sale for a couple of bucks. It doesn't work, I tore it apart and it has had so many hack repairs it will take me a week to fix it properly. It's pretty far down the list of stuff I have to do.

If you restore it, the value would probably go down.

But, they are cool.

I kind of agree with this but I want mine for my semi retro home office, I have a tanker desk that I had painted at Maco and some other retro stuff in it.

Yeah, they definitely look better restored, and if you are not looking for resale, I would not have a single problem myself redoing it.

Just do it reasonably well :D
