So am I the iron butt asshat for this event??

I don't know about the iron butt part, but you are definitely the asshat :)

I'd love to get out west again an wheel with spressoman some time. I think a voyage put to cruise Moab might be in order soon.

Not sure you can qualify for "iron butt" recognition driving a 60 series...seems kinda cushy in anything less than 40 years old.

Anyone follow cruiser Robs recent adventure in his 45? Now that is an adventure.

There is more to an iron butt than just driving your rig. It is also the fact that you drive it there, wheel it, fix anything that breaks on it so then you can drive it home. I didn't make all that last year and I am only an hour and a half from home.

:lol:

Knowing me, I'll break something!

That said, Robs trip is impressive. He stayed with me in ABQ the last time he did this trip. Trooper indeed!

Well, my rear elocker took a dump. It's dead. Ordered a new one and it isn't gonna get here in time, so looks like I'll be rolling without one. Front locker still works.

No RR axle rebuild (rear has to be locked to pull axle shafts)... Don't feel like dicking with the actuator nor the housing at this point.

Dual batts back in, truck is down off the lift. Now to get it home and seal the roof since it's still leaking water, clean it out, start the fridge, buy some beer, pack and hit the road Thursday AM.

Any leads on this would be appreciated. It's a 5 minute swap.

Devilc posted on the capital land cruiser clubhouse section:
Speaking of Craigslist ...
In the past 5 weeks, I have hoovered up 3x 80s off of Craigslist.
1 = $500
2 = $700
3= Traded a case of 5.56mm ammo for it. 5000lbs+ of truck for 1000 rounds of ammo.

...so......do you have a rear locker actuator for the rear diff? If you do, bring it!!

I tried a couple wreckers around me who say they have LCs with locking diffs but they are clueless WRT the locking diff parts and don't seem to take kindly to me explaining what I am looking for.

Throw devilc an PM and email from 'mud and see what he's got.

So it looks like he has one 1993 with the lockers. It has a blown engine, so he is not driving it in the near future. It looks like he will be making one good truck out of the 3, so he may also be a future Lowe Toyota customer. He may be encouraged to lend it out in return for future considerations when ordering parts. ;)

If you can get in touch with him and he is willing to loan it to you, I can pick up the motor or pull it (as long as you tell me how, since I sold my LX450 and don't have the FSM anymore). I will be going through Loudoun County on my way out on Thurs. This ia all assuming the motor is what you need and his works as well.

I still have to get my swing arm bushings pushed in then get the arms back on the truck.
I'm also thinking about draining as much as I can out of the transmission and refilling it. I've love to do a full flush but I don't think that's happening before tomorrow.

...so......do you have a rear locker actuator for the rear diff? If you do, bring it!!

MattMorty says you can remove the motor and engage the locker manually in just a few minutes. He'll be arriving early on Friday morning.

I might have one, I'll dig through my old parts pile before the weekend;)
