Anyone have any input on the 45 listed above? I'm pretty new to 40s in general and don't know anything about 45 prices. I'm about 8 hours away and would like to know that the price is at least reasonable before making the drive. I've messaged the seller on marketplace and he seems to be pretty straightforward and honest. I would greatly appreciate any input y'all might have, thanks.

Currently it’s pending for sale….but here’s my input. 45’s typically don’t stay for sale on the market for long due to their rarity unless they’re overpriced. I personally think for me they offer more utility than the 40 and I’m willing to pay more for that.

Toyota produced a lower number of 45’s than 40’s. There are typically 100+ 40’s for sale at any point and time in the US in varying conditions. Even project 45’s are rare from my experience. From what I have personally seen there are less than 15- 45’s for sale at any point and time. RHD trucks in the US are generally less desirable than LHD trucks and typically sell for less. It does have PS and PDB which is a potential positive depending on what you’re looking for. As far as I can tell it’s the least expensive running/driving 45 on the market at the moment. I’m guessing it has a 4 speed behind the 2F because it’s a ‘84? A 2F and 4 speed is a plus! If I was in the market I would have gone and checked it out. Be sure to take a rare earth magnet to check it for body filler.

I currently have a ‘73 RHD that doesn't have the PS or PDB. It takes a day or so to get the hang of shifting with your left hand. It gives me something to drive while I continue to restore my ‘63. Once the ‘63 is finished I will likely sell the ‘73.

I will tell you to have cash in hand and be ready to buy at a moments notice. There are currently a lot of guys (some of who own 40’s) who are looking for a 45. I’ve been fortunate enough to own 2. Both I was able to buy because I was the first person to respond. Again they don’t stay on the market for long if they are fairly priced.

I wish you luck in your search! Buy the most complete 45 you can afford. Parts are expensive. However if you get a later model truck they share a lot of parts with the 40 so they’re less expensive than the earlier model 45’s because of rarity of parts/# of 40’s produced. You’ll thank yourself being able to drive and enjoy the truck sooner rather than spinning wrenches. However maybe that’s what your looking for?

I’ll continue to post any 45 I find on FB or Craigslist across the US for sale here.

Also I’m going to go back and post pics of the 45’s I’ve found and saved and the details much like @oakweb does. This way we’ll be able to look back in the future should they come up for sale again.

Couple new ones:

65 landcruiser pickup.with parts rig to finish it. I have 90% of the parts just never got to finish the father son project.
Very rare double sliders back windows and removable roof.
Possible part or full trade, worst I could say is no.
Needs restored but worth the time.

I wish I could just purchase the rear windows and silver gauge cluster.
