F to 2F swap (1 Viewer)

What are the issues when changing from an F engine to a 2F? The 2F that I have does not have the ignitor on it... will the one from the F engine work? If not what are the options...I think I am in over my head Any help, suggestions would be appreciated.

I dont know about the ignitor, but I can tell you my dad did one last year on his 1971 FJ40. The 2F essentially just bolted right up, they didnt even take off the header from the F. It bolted up too and he has been very happy with the coversion as the 2F was recently rebuilt.

Direct plug-n-play here - you can use mis-match most parts between them (ignition, dist., intake, exhaust, etc). Just depends how much of the later stuff you've got...

just strip the 2f down to bare minimum like the f motor
direct replacement....
