I just purchased a valve cover seal for my 72 and after doing so, I read multiple times that using a cover from a 2F would seal much better. I have sourced the cover below for $40 plus shipping. Does that price seem reasonable and will this work for my 72?

I put a 2F VC on my 72 F155 this year. Major improvement, zero leaks.
You need the style with the thread in oil cap, its the same thread as the stamped VC that was on my 72 engine.

Youll also need a new gasket, shorter valve cover studs, and new valve cover grommets for the studs.

Thanks for the early feedback. Although I think this is a good price, I think I'll keep looking for one with a threaded cap per @WildernessRimFab recommendation.

75-78 used a tall valve cover with push in oil cap
79-80 used a tall valve cover with threaded oil cap
1980, and maybe 1979, had 2F embossed in front top of valve cover
1981+ valve cover was shorter and does not work with the earlier F valve train

I don't have a concern with the push in oil cap, there are many, many of them still out there running around the world without issues.
the F and 2F engines breath nicely and don't have preasure build up from inside

$40 bucks for the valve cover, was a good deal, half price or better

And then there's these, with a push in oil cap...
